When James Gunn first took reigns of DC Studios as the co-CEO alongside Peter Safran, fans had high hopes for him because of his exemplary CV and how he could create successful movie projects. After all, The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are two of his most popular projects in the DCEU.

With the Snyderverse coming to an end, Gunn is actively working on his Superman, featuring David Corenswet in the fan-favorite role. However, the Peacemaker creator is looking forward to making his DCU more vibrant, as he wants to expand it by introducing characters beyond the iconic names.

To showcase his creative genius, he had decided to introduce Booster Gold to his DC Universe, which would bring a fresh take on his superhero universe, and it looks like Gunn has found the ideal star to play the role, much to fans’ disappointment, as it is not Chris Pratt.

And now, it looks like James Gunn has found him to be the perfect man to portray this DC role. Although fans wanted to see Chris Pratt in the role, exclusive reports from Nexus Point News states that Nanjiani has bagged the role of Booster Gold in Gunn’s DC Universe and is all set to portray the character in the upcoming series of the same name.

The superhero was first introduced in 1986 in the DC comic titled Booster Gold #1, created by writer and artist Dan Jurgens.

Though he messed up his life in his timeline, he decided to change it after traveling back in time to make a name for himself as a superhero. Even though the official announcement from the co-CEO has not come, fans are divided over the scoop as they share their opinions on social media.

Fans Are Fuming Over The Potential Casting of Kumail Nanjiani in the Role of Booster Gold

James Gunn has high hopes for the upcoming project, as he believes that the fans would love the character because he is a vain, self-centered, and acclaim-hungry character. He showcases common human flaws and deviates from the other common superhero traits that showcase their glory.

However, Gunn has debunked the idea of featuring the Garfield actor in the role, and fans have mixed opinions about it. DC Film News (@DCFilmNews) shared the report on X, where Chris Pratt’s fans seemed to have overwhelmingly negative opinions on the potential casting of the actor as they bombed the post with their comments.

Even though the announcement is not official, fans should not go out of their way and spread hate to the people related to the project because Gunn is a man with a keen eye for detail.

Hence, if he felt that Nanjiani was the better actor than Pratt for the role, then there would be a reason behind it.

Booster Gold does not have a release date as of now.
