Reigns has not had the easiest of journeys in the WWE, but his time with The Shield always stood out. Therefore, when their music started playing during a crucial moment during their matchup, it left everyone wanting more. Now, fans have only one request for Triple H: to bring back Jon Moxley.

Roman Reigns took on Cody Rhodes to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Champion title. However, there was a moment when the iconic music for The Shield started blasting through the speakers at Lincoln Financial Field. Many felt that Jon Moxley, also known as Dean Ambrose, had returned to the WWE, and maybe save Reigns, who seemed on the verge of defeat.

However, it turned out to be Seth Rollins instead. With Rollins and Reigns, two-thirds of The Shield was on the floor, and it needed only Ambrose to complete the legendary trio. Ambrose, though, was asleep in Japan at the time.

Moxley has taken his wrestling expertise to Japan, after severing ties with the WWE. He had just finished his match with Shota Umino against Jack Perry and Ren Narita when WrestleMania 40 began.

“I was asleep in Japan when that was going on. When I woke up, I had these messages saying, ‘I thought you were coming out!’ And I was like, ‘Coming out where? It’s cool that people thought it was me. But I was asleep,” he said (via Sports Illustrated).

Moxley has been a busy man. In the last month alone, he has competed in the AEW, CMLL, and NJPL, and he is the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. So far, his stint in New Japan has paid off, and he has found much success in the ring. Moxley has always loved wrestling in the country, and he always felt drawn to the nation even when he was with the WWE.

The wrestler has carved a niche for himself, but his time with Reigns and Rollins played an instrumental role in furthering their careers. And now many want to see them team up again.

During his interview with Sports Illustrated, he looked back on his time with the trio. “We were nobodies. We came in with attitudes, and we pretty much said, ‘We’re coming in, f— you, and we’re taking this sh– over.’ The more time that passes, the more it becomes evident that we did exactly what we said we were going to do,” he said.
