Back in 2023, Warner Bros. were gearing up for the release of one of the last movies to come out of the DCEU. The Flash, starring Ezra Miller in the lead, and directed by Andy Muschetti, had a lot hanging on its shoulders. The movie was supposed to be the vessel to reboot the DCEU to give way for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU.
Though fans weren’t sold on Ezra Miller’s involvement after their various scandals came to light, the reviews coming from the who’s who of Hollywood had them holding on to hope. From Tom Cruise to Stephen King, many celebrities came in defense of the movie, lauding it as one of the best superhero movies ever made. Unfortunately, the movie’s reception was not what anyone had hoped, and The Flash ended up being one ofe the worst features from DCEU.
From Tom Cruise to Stephen King, Celebrities Who Hyped The Flash
Before The Flash was released, many celebrities sand ita praises. The movie had a few private screenings, and some big names in Hollywood spoke highly of it. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Tom Cruise, who watched the movie, called up Andy Muschetti to rave about it. The Mission Impossible star said that The Flash is “everything you want in a movie” and “this is the kind of movie we need now.”
Novelist Stephen King also sang it’s praises, taking to X (formerly Twitter), and raving about the movie being “heartfelt, funny, and eye-popping.” But these two are not the only ones who sang praises of the Ezra Miller starrer. Actor Jaden Smith wrote on X, “The Flash just changed my life.”
Terry Crews too was a fan, who took to Instagram to share his experience of watching the film, as well as encouraging others to go watch it. Director Edgar Wright, known for movies like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Baby Driver, wrote on Instagram, “the final film is a blast.”
Fans Are Calling Out The Celebrities Who Praised The Flash
Unfortunately for DC Films and Warner Bros. Discovery, The Flash ended up as a disaster. The movie got mediocre reviews from critics, with only 63% fresh rating on the Tomatometer. And now, fans are calling out the celebs who were singing its praises. Here’s what they have to say:
