As temperatures soar across the globe, the box office is heating up with several highly anticipated releases this summer. And it seems like the buddy cop genre is making a return. After MCU’s Deadpool & Wolverine caused a loud splash on the internet, it is now Eddie Murphy’s turn to make the viewers go from LOL to ROFL.
Yes, you heard it right! Murphy is back with his action-comedy series Beverly Hills Cop, and the trailer for the fourth installment was just released. Besides several callbacks to previous films, the teaser also featured a scene that might make a lot of Jeremy Renner fans uncomfortable.
If you are one of those, we suggest you proceed with caution, as the scene might not be directly connected to the accident, but can bring back bad memories.
Eddie Murphy drives through cars using a snowplow in Beverly Hills Cop 4 trailer
Netflix recently dropped the trailer for Eddie Murphy‘s Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, and fans can’t help but notice intriguing details in the clip. In a certain action sequence in the trailer, Murphy’s Foley is seen trying to get the cops’ attention by ramming a snowplow through a few cars.
Though it is not clear what inspired the act, the snowplow might give several netizens PTSD, especially those who are aware of the accident that happened last year. The snow plow became infamous for almost killing The Avengers star Jeremy Renner, who barely escaped with his life.
Renner’s accident left him with over 30 broken bones, and he had to go through a painful year-long recovery period to get back on his feet. He is almost back in shape now and filming for Mayor of Kingstown.
Fans ecstatic about Eddie Murphy’s return as Axel Foley
Besides the inconspicuous nod to Renner’s terrible snowplow mishap, the Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F trailer makes the fans reminisce about Murphy’s previous adventures as the down-on-his-luck ex-cop. And they are looking forward to his return, as evidenced by the various comments on X:

Eddie Murphy is the GOAT.. I'll watch anything he does.
But for the past decade he's felt off his game. These remakes are missing that spark of Eddie charm or something.
I have a feeling this one will be the same. Still it feels good to see him back for another. Can't wait 🙌

I bet this would’ve been a box office success💰What a missed opportunity to not release this theatrically first

It is quite clear that Beverly Hills Cop 4 is turning heads, and fans will finally have a decent buddy cop comedy in a long time. Fans are also hoping that the film will be a massive improvement over the previous threequel, which almost ran the franchise to the ground. Funnily enough, it also features as a callback in the trailer.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is arriving on Netflix on 3 July 2024.
