We all know that Wolverine is one of the more resilient mutants in Marvel Comics as well as the X-Men franchise. With retractable Adamantium claws and a healing factor to repair his wounds, Wolverine is nearly an indestructible killing machine.

However, one small change in Wolverine’s origin arc could have given the mutant an upgrade from his Adamantium style. This minor change would have given Wolverine a new metal that would have literally made him the strongest X-Men in the comics!

One Minor Change In Wolverine’s Origin Arc Would Have Been Enough!

We all know the backstory of Logan. From having bones emerging from his hands to running away to mining coal to joining World War I and II and fighting alongside Captain America, Wolverine has a lot of stories to tell.

After his imprisonment, Wolverine’s body gets filled with Adamantium, and his bones are forced to turn into the heavy metal. Well, one minor change in the story of Wolverine could have gone a long way and helped Wolverine become one of the strongest mutants out there and that change…is pretty simple.

Instead of filling Wolverine with Adamantium, they could have chosen to fill Wolverine with Vibranium instead. This would have allowed Wolverine to have more agility since Vibranium is a lot lighter than Adamantium. The Wakandan metal would have also allowed Wolverine to absorb and release kinetic energy at his will. Alongside these benefits, Wolverine would also be able to run faster, climb uphill at an accelerated speed, and a lot more. It would have been cool to see Hugh Jackman donning a Black Panther-ish suit for Wolverine and have the dexterity and agility of a panther.

“I said, ‘Listen, I’m sorry. It’s just — I’ve got this part in this thing, and they haven’t got my visa.’ And he [officer] goes, ‘What’s the thing?’ And I said, ‘Well, it’s ‘X-Men.’ It’s like a comic book.’ He goes, ‘What? Well, you mean like the animation thing, ‘X-Men’?” And I goes, ‘Well, no, they’re doing a live-action version of it.’”

He further continued,

“He goes, ‘Well, what did you audition for?’ And I said, ‘It’s a character called Wolverine.’ He goes, ‘What?!’ And he literally looked at me, and then he just — to all his mates, he goes, ‘Hey, Jimmy, it’s Wolverine! This is Wolverine!’ Honestly, I went out there with a police escort, just to let me out.”

Although Wolverine isn’t considered an Omega-level mutant, it seems that he has saved plenty of lives including Hugh Jackman’s. The world is excited for the return of Hugh Jackman in the role of Wolverine when the iconic MCU film Deadpool & Wolverine releases on 26th July 2024 in theaters across the U.S.
