Terry Crews Had To Pawn His Wife‘s Wedding Ring
According to Variety, Terry Crews openly discussed the troubles he and his family had to face financially after he quit his football career.
Terry Crews told Variety:
“After retiring from the NFL, I struggled to get to the next level where I wanted to be. I tried and failed many times to secure a job in entertainment, but there was no luck. And then my wife’s wedding ring took its fourth trip to the pawn shop. When that happened, she told me maybe it’s time you widen the search and do anything that could genuinely put food on the table.”
Crews also recalled a challenging time when, after a night of looking for spare change, he decided to sign up at a temporary agency. He was assigned to a factory by the agency, where he was given a broom and asked to sweep the whole premises. Despite breaking sweat for eight hours, he only received $8 per hour for his work.
Though it was a difficult time for the actor, it played an important role in giving him a new perspective. Eventually, Crews saw the opportunity in the world of acting, ultimately changing the course of his and his family’s life.

Terry Crews Opened Up Being Addicted To P*rn
Terry Crews discussed his p*rn addiction when he appeared on The Diary Of A CEO with Steven Bartlett. He admitted that his addiction worked as a temporary refuge for him.
Crews said:
“Drinking is a way of numbing your pain – for me it was p*rnography. P*rnography numbed my pain. I’ve never been drunk or high but p*rn was something that took me out.”
He said that his challenges with addiction started to become evident from a desire to look for solace during a rough time in his early life.
“I first discovered it at about nine or ten years old, I was at my uncle’s house and he had a chest full of it. You never find it as an adult. I don’t know anyone who only found p*rn as an adult. You always find it as a child.”
He said that it was the only way of finding relief for him, enabling him to detach himself emotionally from his struggles.
