The Avengers is one of the most powerful superhero factions in the combined world of Marvel and DC comics. Even though the comics had revealed this fact long ago, it was the Marvel Cinematic Universe that truly portrayed it and helped it reach more people worldwide. But even though Avengers consists of powerful superheroes, the debate about who is the strongest among them is never-ending.
But there is a certain character that is powerful enough to take on several Avengers and come out victorious. That character is none other than Aang, who is known from the famous animated series and movie Avatar: The Last Airbender. Even though he is quite strong and can take on a few Avengers, there are other Avengers who could defeat him without any difficulty. Here is a list of three Avengers whom he would defeat and three that could beat him.

3. Hawkeye
Hawkeye is a master in in-hand combat, with superhuman skills in archery. He uses a mechanized modified bow and has a quiver full of special arrows. Aang could easily overpower him since he does not have any superpower. Even if he uses any of his special arrows, Aang can just dodge it or create a protective air, water, or fire layer, or put up an Earth wall to protect himself.
Any of these elements can disarm Hawkeye while Aang watches from a distance. Without even touching Hawkeye, the Airbender could defeat him.
2. Black Widow
Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. the Black Widow, is a former Russian assassin. Just like Hawkeye, she is a master in close combat and knows several kinds of martial arts. She is one of the original members of the Avengers. Even though she is quite skilled and can use tons of weapons, Aang will still have the upper hand during battle.
His mastery over his bending and being an Avatar, he has superhuman abilities. He can dodge all of her attacks and counter her with elemental bending. Even though Black Widow has great evasion skills, she does not get far.
1. Captain America
Captain America is a World War 2 veteran. He was injected with the Super Soldier serum, which gave a superhuman body with superhuman strength. He has a shield made of vibranium. The fight between Aang and Captain America will be an interesting one, but all things considered, Aang will win the fight. Apart from durability, nothing would fend off the last Airbender. Aang’s mastery over the elements will be fatal for Steve Rogers.
Even if he throws the shield, Aang can just dodge it. There are tons of weapons under Aang’s sleeve. Captain America could do this all day, but ultimately, Aang would come out victorious. But Aang will take more time with Steve Rogers due to his durability.
3 Avengers Who Can Beat the Avatar
3. Scarlet Witch
Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch, can easily dismantle Aang. Her telekinesis power is too powerful, and even Doctor Strange is not enough to control it. Scarlet Witch can create realities of her own and can use chaos magic, which is one of the strongest forms of magic. All the elements combined will be not enough to defeat her. It will be a one-sided battle. The most Aang can do is to try to fend off her projectiles with his element bending.
2. Thor
Thor, the God of Thunder, is one of the strongest Avengers. He is the embodiment of thunder, and his hammer, Mjolnir, and axe, storm breaker, will be too powerful for the Avatar. To be fair, thunder is also an element, but Thor’s mastery over his element is at a much higher level than Aang’s. If Thor throws either of his weapons towards Aang, he will not be able to dodge it since he is not fast enough.
1. Doctor Strange
Doctor Stephen Strange, popularly known as Doctor Strange is the most skilled Sorcerer. His abilities match that of the Scarlet Witch. He can alter realities, manipulate time, telekinesis, telepathy, etc., which makes him a dominant force of nature. He can see the future and accordingly change it. In a fight against the Avatar, he could use his unique powers or just see the future and take precautions accordingly. Doctor Strange also possesses the Time Stone. Aang will be completely helpless against Doctor Strange.
