The GTA 6 trailer has finally dropped, and that too ahead of the scheduled release due to a leak on social media that prompted Rockstar Games to release the trailer 15 hours early. The trailer has confirmed a lot of things that were either leaked, rumored, or speculated, including the dual protagonists, map, and more.

However, a leak also emerged a few days ahead of the trailer release, treating fans to the GTA 6 map, and now private conversations regarding the map size of GTA 6 and its features have surfaced online.

A New Leak Reveals GTA 6 Map Size and Other Details

Leaked private conversations reveal GTA 6 map size is twice of Los Santos.
Leaked private conversations reveal the GTA 6 map size is twice that of Los Santos.

The new leak was originally shared on TikTok by a user named azzarossi and gave fans a sneak peek of the map. The leaked footage looks to be a development build of the game and shows cityscapes and skyscrapers resembling the ones in Vice City, as well as trees, clouds, and more. The footage was also seen to be running on a PC in development mode. Fans soon took to comparing the footage to the leaked footage from last year and found many similarities.

The leaked footage was soon taken down, along with the account of the leaker, who was alleged to be the son of Rockstar Games employee Aaron Garbut, Art Director at Rockstar North. This came from private conversations with the individual behind the leaks, who also shared some details about the map size of GTA 6 and other features. Later, it was said that the photo, which may be used as evidence, is not the son of the employee but is trying to pose as such.

The leaks also reveal that there will be a lake at the center of the map.

According to the details shared by GTA 6 NEWS on X/Twitter, the GTA 6 map size is twice the size of Los Santos, confirming that there will be “3 major cities and 4 sub-cities” with smaller areas surrounding them and insisting that the leak is true. The leaker also revealed that there will be a large lake around the center of the map. These leaks seem to be true since the game map seems massive, as per the trailer.

If the map size claim is indeed true, Miami, Atlanta, and Orlando could be the major cities with Fort Myers, Tampa, and Naples as the sub-cities, or it could be that Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Daytona Beach, or Port St. Lucie are the smaller cities; the possibilities are endless.

Another report added that the leaker also revealed in the comments of the video post that “his son is the coolest,” potentially confirming that he got the footage from Aaron Garbut’s son. The private conversations further reveal the interactive builds in the game. When asked if Vice City will have more enterable interiors than GTA 5, the leaker replied that there will be a lot more such interiors since the map is bigger and added that “almost 70% of builds are enterable.”

More than 70% of the buildings in the game will be enterable.

The leaker also said volumetric clouds will be added to the final game. He further mentioned that the game is supposed to release in fall 2024, with pre-orders going live after the trailer, but the release claim is now squashed since the trailer confirmed that GTA 6 will be launched in 2025. Moreover, the game is still not available for pre-orders, so that might be false information too.

The leaker also said that he leaked the video since it would have been useless to post it after the trailer was released, also describing it as “barely anything substantial” and should not cause harm to the developer since legally everything is “hearsay.” The videos were taken down from TikTok and X/Twitter, so it must have been true that Rockstar had to take action, later also releasing the trailer early due to a leak.
