The Rock has undoubtedly emerged as one of the biggest Hollywood stars of all time, with the majority of his films becoming box-office hits. Bautista has been part of huge franchises in the past couple of years, and his continuous presence in the media pop culture will definitely make him the next big thing.

With several projects lined up for the Knock at the Cabin star, it is no mystery that he will soon advance his footing in Hollywood and become the next Dwayne Johnson. Here are some of Bautista’s upcoming movies:

Dave Bautista will reprise his role as the brutal Harkonnen enforcer Glossu ‘Beast’ Rabban in Dune: Part Two, which he previously teased will be more “amped up from the first film.” The sequel will adapt the rest of the first Dune novel, so it only makes sense that viewers will witness more of the actor’s interpretation of the ruthless ‘Beast.’

What surprise could Bautista’s character give the audience in Dune: Part Two? In a previous interview with the actor, he revealed director Denis Villeneuve helped bring out the best in him. He told Collider, “He knows that my dream is to work with him as a number one because I really think that Denny will show me how good I can be.”

Dune: Part Two will arrive in theaters on March 1, 2024. The movie also stars Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, and Christopher Walken.

2. The Killer’s Game

Dave Bautista will star in The Killer’s Game

The Killer’s Game is based on Jay Bonansinga’s novel which follows a skilled assassin named Joe Flood, portrayed by Bautista. The character is living with a terminal illness and wishes to secure his loved one’s future, so he hires a team of killers to put an end to him. In a twist of events, Flood’s sickness was a complete mistake, and he must try to stop the army he hired to kill him.

Director J.J. Perry’s action-comedy project has been brewing at the headquarters for almost two decades now. Jason Statham was the original actor tapped to play the lead, but now, Bautista will take on the role as well as co-executive produce the film.

The cast also includes Ben Kingsley, Sofia Boutella, Ice Cube, Pom Klementieff, Scott Adkins, and Drew McIntyre. The Killer’s Game has no release date at the moment, and production is yet to commence.

3. The Wrecking Crew

Dave Bautista will star in The Wrecking Crew

Ángel Manuel Soto’s The Wrecking Crew will see Bautista and Aquaman star Jason Momoa team up again on the big screen. Both actors have been in talks for the buddy action comedy way before the strike happened. There are scarce details about the movie’s plot, but it was reported that the project was willed into existence by Bautista and Momoa.

David Leitch was originally attached to the film, but it is unknown whether his commitment to the John Wick franchise stole him from this project. Bautista teased back in 2021 that he and Momoa will star in a Lethal Weapon-type buddy cop movie, so hopefully this will get off the ground. The Wrecking Crew has yet to schedule a release date. Start of filming will be announced soon.
