Well, this one might hopefully be not too controversial, but Naruto and the Harry Potter franchise are way more similar than you think. As our experts sat and discussed the two stories, they quickly realized that Naruto is essentially the anime version of Harry Potter!
From being an orphan kid with a curse to fighting a villain obsessed with immortality, the two stories are eerily similar to each other. And before you pick up arms against us, here are 5 arguments that will convince you that the Japanese manga is an adaptation of Harry Potter.
1) Naruto and Harry Potter Were Orphans With A Terrible Childhood
With Voldemort killing Potter’s parents, the young magician is picked up by Dumbledore and placed in the care of the Dursleys. Now, we all know how that went. Living in a cupboard under the stairs, Harry Potter was an outsider in his own home and was treated very harshly by his aunt and uncle.
On the other hand, Naruto Uzumaki had never known love during his entire childhood. Being an orphan, he was neglected and referred to as the demon boy who shouldn’t have been alive. To top it off, the two protagonists even share a scarring story that left a change in their faces.
2) Harry Potter and Naruto Share A Scarring Story!
We all know how Voldemort scarred Potter’s forehead with a lightning symbol when he failed to kill him. Well, Uzumaki also has whiskers on his face throughout the entirety of the anime, and here is the reason for it:
Fans know that Naruto possesses the Nine-Tailed Fox Kurama, the beast that is trapped within his body. As a result, Harry Potter and the teenage ninja both share a physical marking on their face, which is connected to their powers.
3) Severus Snape and Itachi Were Double Agents
Severus Snape joined the army of Voldemort (the Death Eaters) as a double agent for Dumbledore after Snape realized who Voldemort really was. With the death of Lily Potter heavy on his mind, Snape gave vital information to Dumbledore but was always considered a villain right before he sacrificed himself. After his sacrifice, the story changed, and people realized that Snape had been a good guy all along.
The same can be said about Itachi Uchiha, the older brother of Sasuke Uchiha. Killing the entirety of his own clan while sparing only Sasuke, Itachi was a member of Akatsuki. Itachi also played a vital role in the story of Naruto, especially in how he spent his time with the Akatsuki clan (which was considered the villainous or evil clan). It was only after he sacrificed himself that Obito revealed Itachi’s story and how he had been a hero all along, just like Severus Snape!
4) Orochimaru Is Basically Anime Voldemort!
Let’s compare the details. Voldemort is a magician who believes in pure-blood supremacy and is obsessed with immortality. Voldemort even creates seven Horcruxes so that his soul may live and he would be immortal. And yes, Tom Riddle is seen in the company of snakes, i.e., Nagini (his pet snake and final Horcrux), Slytherin, and a Basilisk.
On the other hand, Orochimaru is also a villainous figure in Naruto who has a snake theme to his name and is also obsessed with immortality. With a white snake appearing on his parents’ grave, Orochimaru became obsessed with power and immortality, and much like Voldemort became a menace in his world.
5) Harry Potter and Naruto Ended Up With Side Characters
Well, not exactly side characters, but shy characters would be the more appropriate word. Harry Potter started dating Ginny Weasely, who was a shy girl with a crush on Potter, while Naruto dated Hinata Hyuga.
Both Harry Potter and Naruto ended up marrying their partners, which caused the other two people in their trio to marry each other. In the case of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley ended up dating and marrying Hermione Granger, while in Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke married each other.
