One such fight that is considered one of the best fights in the entire series is that of Might Guy and Madara Uchiha. The fight made Madara recognize the strength of Might Guy and gave him the title of the Strongest Taijutsu User in the world. The fight had some epic moments that made the battle intriguing and thrilling.

The main aspect of the battle was Might Guy unlocking the Eight Gates, the strongest Taijutsu technique in the entire Narutoverse. The technique shocked the fans and one Naruto theory proves that Madara Uchiha fought at least one Eight Gates user before Might Guy which is why he was able to recognize the technique.

The Eight Gates Technique in Naruto

The Eight Gates are eight specific spots along a person’s Chakra Pathway System. They restrict the person’s body’s general chakra flow. The body’s limitations on its internal processes serve as the foundation for the concept of chakra gates. The Eight Gates are the strongest Taijutsu technique that has been seen in Naruto.

Through rigorous training, it is possible to learn how to unlock these gates, which will enable the user to exceed their own physical limitations at the risk of suffering severe bodily harm. The condition that occurs when all eight gates open is known as the “Eight Gates Released Formation”. The technique was only witnessed once in the entire Naruto story.

Any shinobi that enters this condition will experience a brief increase in power, equivalent to that of a Kage, but the harm to their bodies will ultimately cause them to pass away. The one thing that is unknown about the Eight Gates is their origin. No one knows from where the technique originated and how many users before Guy knew about the technique.

Naruto Theory Claims Madara Fought Atleast One Eight Gates User Before Might Guy

There is a theory on Reddit by u/elwhistleblower that claims Madara witnessed Guy-level Taijutsu practitioners during the Warring States Period. The method was probably developed in that time period. He knew about the technique and even stated some facts about how powerful the technique was.

Later, while fighting Guy Madara sees the blue vapor from Guy opening the 7th gate and he remarks, “One short of the eighth gate of death huh. He insults me, not bringing out the red vapor.” This indicates that he has seen this move before. However, this indicates that Madara only knew how the first seven gates worked and was unaware of the 8th gate.

Also, Madara declared Guy as the strongest Taijutsu user which means that the individual that he fought before could only open 7 gates. The fight is probably the best Taijutsu fight in Narutoverse and it explains Guy’s strength as a Ninja.
