Published back in 2019, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson quickly made a name for itself as it quickly topped the lists. The young adult book narrates the story of Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a 17-year-old high school student, she becomes fascinated with a murder case that took place in her town. Though the case was closed Fitz-Amobi started her own investigation uncovering several secrets and the uncomforting darkness lurking in the community.

This is a three-book series, where the first book is followed by the sequel Good Girl, Bad Blood, and As Good As Dead, where each book has sold millions of copies around the world. To make the murder mystery series more popular, BBC has announced that they will make a TV Series adaption and it will be produced by Moonage Pictures. The series is set to be directed by Dolly Wells, and it will feature Wednesday actress, Emma Myers in the lead role of Pippa Fitz-Amobi.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder doesn’t have an official release date, but it’ll be released sometime in 2024.

4) It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Written by Colleen Hoover, It Ends With Us was published in 2016 and is a two-novel series. The first book, It Ends With Us is an emotionally gripping read that narrates the complexities of love, resilience, and the cycle of abuse. The novel narrates the story of Lily Bloom, who navigates herself growing up in a toxic household and navigates her tumultuous relationship with Ryle Kincaid, a neurosurgeon with an equally troubled past. The series tells the story of trauma, the human spirit, and forgiveness in a raw and unfiltered manner, making it a timeless classic.

The book gained so much popularity that a film adaptation is taking place with the movie title being the same as the source material. The film will feature Blake Lively in the role of Lily Bloom, and alongside her will be Justin Baldoni portraying the role of Ryle Kincaid. Brandon Sklenar will also be in the film as he is set to play the role of Atlas Corrigan, Bloom’s old flame, and days later Jenny Slate joined the cast as well.

It Ends With Us is set to release in theatres on 21st June 2024.

The book is written by Ashton Edward, and it is set in a dystopian future, where the protagonist, Mickey Barnes, aka Mickey7 is sent on a mission to colonize the ice world Niflheim. The protagonist is “expendable” as each time he dies, a new version of himself is created with his previous memories intact, making him immortal. However, hell breaks loose as his alternate version tries to replace the original Mickey7.

The book was a massive hit among sci-fi readers, and it became so popular that a film adaption was announced titled Mickey 17. The film will feature Robert Pattinson in the lead role of Mickey Barnes. The much-anticipated sci-fi film is going to be directed by Bong Joon-ho and readers believe the film will leave The Martian and Dark Matter into dust.

Mickey 17 is set to hit the big screens on 29 March 2024.

4) Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

Publish in 2017, this 286-page-long read tells the gripping story of Aza Holmes, a teenage girl dealing with anxiety and Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The plot develops when a billionaire’s son goes missing and a reward will be paid for information, Holmes with her friend, Daisy Ramirez starts an investigation and meets Davis Pickett to get more information on the missing boy. The novel deeply narrates the struggles of living with mental illness.

The novel gets a movie adaptation with the title of the same name as it features Isabela Merced in the role of Aza Holmes, Cree Cicchino in the role of Daisy Ramirez, Felix Mallard as Davis Pickett, and many more. The film has already created immense buzz among the readers and the film will be a massive success. 

Turtles All the Way Down will be released sometime in 2024 on Max.

5) Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

Lastly on the list features Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein which remains a timeless read. The primary theme of the novel is horror, it tells the tale of Dr. Frankenstein creating a monster called, Frankenstein’s monster. The novel often displays the consequences of playing god, alienation, and moral responsibilities. The book features numerous hard-hitting quotes on different themes featured in the book.

Frankenstein was published in 1818, and over the years it had numerous adaptations where some were liked and some were not. In September 2023, it was announced a Frankenstein adaptation will take place for Netflix, where Jacob Elordi, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, and Christian Convery will be a part of the cast. Guillermo del Torro is writing, directing, and producing the project. However, one thing is unsure if the film will be set in a period pic or set in modern times.

Frankenstein doesn’t have an official release date but it will release on Netflix.
