Several games bring festive gaming events during this season to get players in the holiday spirit with various holiday-themed content and in-game rewards that are up for grabs for a limited time.

5. Call of Duty CODMAS 2023

The CODMAS 2023 festive gaming event started on December 19 and is available till January 3, 2024. The CODMAS event is available across Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.

The event brings holiday-themed time-limited maps, modes, and event challenges to earn in-game rewards. Two 6v6 maps, Shipmas and Hangover have been decorated with lights, Christmas trees, Snowman, and more to match the Christmas vibes. The fights at Hangover will be taking place at night and Shipmas is filled with snow for scoring kills in cold-blood.

There are three new limited-time modes namely Infectious Holiday, Snowfight, and Slay Ride Resurgence. Players dressed in Santa outfits go against zombies and those who get infected turn into zombie Santa skin in Infectious Holiday. Snowfight is a new festive gaming take on Gunfight mode with snowball fights which players can throw on players and a Golden Snowball guarantees a one-time kill.

Players can earn several rewards in Slay Ride Resurgence by decorating trees and participating in fights against Santa on the redecorated train. There are also six “Deck the Halls” capture points on the Urzikstan map. There will also be a new year event following CODMAS called Face the Vortex with Vortex-themed maps.

Final Fantasy XIV is celebrating the holiday season with the Starlight Celebration event available from December 15 to December 31, 2023. The Starlight Celebration event brings a new holiday event quest called Blue Starlight that players can complete to earn Santa-inspired clothing items. The quest location is Old Gradinia at coordinates X: 10.2 Y: 9.4 and the quest NPC is Bearded Lady.

Players must be level 15 to accept the event quest. The completion of the event quest will grant players a set of Santa-inspired clothing items including an illuminated Topiary Chocobo, unorthodox Saint’s Cap, unorthodox Saint’s Halfrobe, unorthodox Saint’s Gloves, unorthodox Saint’s Bottoms, and unorthodox Saint’s Longboots. The event truly embodies the spirit of festive gaming.

Blizzard brings the Winter Wonderland festive gaming event in Overwatch 2 every year and this year is no different as the event is back with new winter-themed event modes, new cosmetic rewards, and different ways to earn exciting rewards. The limited-time event modes include Mei’s Snowball Offensive, Yeti Hunt, and the new Freeze-Flash Elimination mode.

You can arm yourself with snowballs in Mei’s Snowball Offensive that can help knock out opponents in a single hit but remember to avoid Ice Walls and Cryo-Freeze to not get eliminated. Players can play solo or 5v5 for an intense battle filled with snow and fun to be a snowball master. The Yeti Hunt mode is a 5v1 PVP mode where a player will play as Yeti and the rest will be against Yeti looking to neutralize the big threat.

The Freeze-Flash Elimination is a 5v5 mode where players will be frozen if they lose all their health, and the other teammates will have to save them without getting iced themselves. The first team to win three rounds will be crowned victorious. Players can earn bonus XP for the Season 8 Battle Pass and also progress through the Winter Fair.

There is also a new Winter Fair Event Pass to unlock Holiday-themed rewards. Players can also earn tickets by playing games that they can spend at the Winter Fair and get rewards of their choice including one free legendary skin. Players can also earn bonus tickets to get their hands on three additional Legendary skins and other cosmetic items such as the Legendary Wrapping Paper Reinhardt and the Legendary Kerrigan Widowmaker skin.

This is Diablo‘s first holiday event which started on December 12 and is available till January 2, 2023. The festive gaming event takes place in Kyovashad, the capital city of Fractured Peaks with players exploring the areas and killing bosses.

Players can defeat Blightfiends to collect Blighted Fragments destroy Frigid Husks to collect Lost Heirlooms and kill the Red-Cloaked Horror to earn Red-Cloaked Trophy. The Midwinter Blight event also brings a variety of rewards that players can trade for weapon cosmetics, Shard of Dawn Offensive Legendary Aspect, Gileon’s Brew, class-specific Back Trophies, and Mount Trophy.

The event is available from December 14 to January 2, 2024, and brings limited-time rewards with two free cosmetics and holiday-themed challenges for players to complete and earn in-game rewards. There is an Express Snapshot questline and Ship It! Express limited-time experience.

The Ship It! Express limited-time experience in the seasonal Fortnite gaming event brings 14 gifts that players can grab every day during the event. Players can collect these items from the “Daily Gifts” section in the Quests tab. Remember that these gifts refresh in 24 hours but can be collected anytime during the event. The gifts contain various in-game items such as Outfits, Gliders, a Lobby Track that doubles as a Jam Track, and much more, all for free.

The two free Winterfest Bushranger and Holiday Boxy outfits Lego-style are up for grabs with the gifts. Players can also look for stolen items with the Express Snapshot questline. There are a variety of unvaulted items that players can pick up including Holiday Presents to collect the loot, Sneaky Snowmando to place snowmen or wear them as a disguise, an explosive snowball launcher, Snowy Flopper to restore health, and Grappler.

There will also be Winterfest Quests during the event that are available through the event and players completing 19 of these quests will be able to unlock the Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe. These quests will be available till the end of the event on January 2 so there is still plenty of time to get into this icy festive gaming event.

There is also a new Ship It! Express game mode is available during the Fortnite Winterfest event. The mode is like Zero Build but with a twist as players cannot use any weapons and use throwable weapons and consumables to hit enemies and survive.

But that’s not all as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skin set is also hitting the in-game store featuring Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, and April O’Neil. All of these outfits come with their own LEGO style.
