James Howlett, a.k.a. Wolverine, is one of the most popular characters in Marvel Comics. The mutant has a plethora of powers, including superhuman strength, enhanced senses, and, of course, his extraordinary healing prowess.
However, one ability that Wolverine possesses makes him a formidable foe for even the strongest characters in Marvel comics. Yes, we are talking about none other than Logan’s Adamantium skeleton and claws. The fictional metal alloy is coated on the unbelievably strong character’s bones.
With that being said, one may wonder which Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero and villains can Wolverine hurt with his Adamantium claws. Let’s take a look at that.
Namor vs. Wolverine
Namor was originally introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Being a mutant son of a human explorer and Atlantean princess, Namor possesses great strength.
In fact, Namor’s strengths rival those of The Hulk and Thor. Despite being such a strong character, Wolverine can unleash damage to Namor with his Adamantium claws. While Wolverine can hurt Namor, it doesn’t mean that he can be victorious against him, as depicted in the comics a plethora of times.
The Thing vs. Wolverine
The MCU has planned several amazing films for its Phase Five and Six, including Fantastic Four. With the film’s expected release in 2026, fans couldn’t be more excited about its release. The movie will obviously feature one of the most popular Marvel characters, The Thing.
Benjamin Grimm, a.k.a. The Thing, is usually regarded as one of the most resilient characters in Marvel comics. With MCU’s take on Fantastic Four all set to release in a couple of years, there’s a possibility that the movie or following projects feature a fight between The Thing and Wolverine.
The two characters have fought many battles against each other in the comics. Moreover, as expected, Wolverine was able to hurt The Thing, whose durability is considered to be second to none other than The Hulk.
The Hulk vs. Wolverine
Bruce Banner has remained a crucial part of the MCU since The Avengers’ release in 2012. Mark Ruffalo has done a great job of portraying the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But one thing that fans are yet to witness is Wolverine’s fight against The Hulk.
After all, in the comics, the two have locked horns a plethora of times, albeit the Green Goliath emerging victorious in almost every fight. But that didn’t stop Wolverine from dealing damage to Banner with his Adamantium claws. While Ruffalo’s Hulk is a much calmer variant of the character, a multiverse variant of The Hulk may not be as kind.
With Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine all set to make its MCU debut in Deadpool 3, he may appear in future movies as well. As of now, there’s no confirmation that the two popular characters will fight each other, it could change in Avengers: Secret Wars. The movie will be the conclusion to MCU’s Multiverse saga and will be a perfect way to include a bloody fight between Wolverine and The Hulk.

Thor vs. Wolverine
The God of Thunder is a formidable character, with not many being even remotely close to the Norse God’s powers. Wolverine is no stranger to taking on more than his weight in Marvel comics, and fighting Thor is the perfect example of it.
Considering Wolverine’s Adamantium claws can cut through virtually anything solid in the Marvel universe, he can indeed damage Thor. But that’s the extent of it. Wolverine has tried to fight against Thor on a few occasions in the comics, only to be absolutely annihilated by the God of Thunder.
Once again, keeping the MCU’s Multiverse saga in mind, it won’t be a surprise if Wolverine decides to take on a variant of Thor. However, even if Thor holds back in the fight, Logan won’t be a match for him in a battle.
Thanos vs. Wolverine
Thanos was the primary villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first four Phases. Josh Brolin did a commendable job of bringing the iconic comic villain to life. While The Avengers indulged in an all-out war against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, they barely managed to win it.
However, things could have been very different if Wolverine was a member of The Avengers. After all, in the comics, Wolverine managed to land the usual killer blow to Mad Titan’s chest, thanks to his Adamantium claws. Wolverine’s move usually kills most villains, but Thanos had a loaded Infinity Gauntlet at his disposal.
The Mad Titan used the Infinity Stones to turn Wolverine’s Adamantium-coated bones into rubber. Thus killing the extraordinary mutant in a matter of seconds. While Wolverine can cut through Thanos’ skin, fans may not get to see it in the MCU. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thanos’ role in the story is pretty much over.
So, these were the five superheroes and villains that Wolverine could cut through or damage with his Adamantium claws. It includes some of the most powerful characters in the MCU.
But as we mentioned earlier, Wolverine can undoubtedly do some damage to the characters, he gets annihilated in most fights against the most powerful characters in the MCU. Despite that, the audience would love to see a couple of these fight sequences being included in the MCU over the next few years.
