Fallout isn’t the first story featuring the apocalypse, and it certainly won’t be the last.

One of the biggest issues with Fallout that fans will take umbrage with is its short run time. The first season of Jonathan Nolan’s post-apocalyptic saga is only eight episodes long. At roughly an hour each, that’s just a single 9 to 5-hour shift! Definitely not enough time in the wasteland.

There’s nothing that can quite replicate the same feeling as Fallout. But some can come close. So, if you’ve finished the series and feel like you need more of the wasteland, here are five shows that can keep you busy until the second nuk—sorry, season drops.

5. The Last of Us

The first season did a faithful retelling of the story of the first game and its DLC.

One of the best live-action adaptations of a video game, HBO Max’s The Last of Us, set the stage for Fallout. Instead of nukes, the apocalypse was caused by the evolution of the Cordyceps fungi, which enabled them to use humans as hosts. The story follows Joel, a survivor, and Ellie, a teenage girl, whom he must escort to the Firefly faction. While action is present, the focus of the story is survival and bonding in a broken world.

4. Twisted Metal

Fans of the game will be happy the series is able to recreate the Twisted Metal vibe.

Another game to live-action adaptation, Twisted Metal is perfect for those who wanted Fallout to have more humor and a lot more destruction. Filled with absurd jokes, Twisted Metal follows the story of Anthony Mackie’s courier character, who is recruited for One Big Job with Stephanie Beatriz from Brooklyn 99. Expect lots of gore and guts in this show, but don’t go into it with a desire for a strong story.

3. Silo

Fallout's Vaults are integral to its story, and the main stage for Silo.

If the Vault dweller way of life was interesting to you, Silo is something that should be on your list. In this Apple TV series, humanity has gone underground to avoid an irradiated surface world. Untrustworthy leaders and secretive agendas abound as Rebecca Ferguson’s character unravels the mysteries of their shelter. It’s low on humor but has great potential in the coming seasons.

2. Jericho

It may not be in the future, but it still reflects the challenges of the apocalypse in an engaging way.

It may lack the Vaults, but Jericho has many of the same tensions and challenges we see in Fallout. Once the bombs fall, the residents of Jericho find that their survival now teeters on the precipice. As with many series and movies dealing with life after the apocalypse, Jericho too focuses on the interpersonal challenges and conflicts that arise as civilization begins to crumble.

1. See

Did an eye for an eye really make the whole world blind?

Definitely one of the more interesting entrants on the list, See is an Apple TV+ original series. Set far into the future after the apocalypse, humanity has lost its vision, quite literally. Without eyesight, factions go to war with each other using the remaining senses they have left. Heavy on the fighting, we see Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista leading the charge in this series that will remind you of the Fallout finale.
