5. Star Wars Outlaws
Although Star Wars Outlaws does have not a specific release date, the game is scheduled to release sometime in 2024 and players are excitedly looking forward to playing the game. Star Wars Outlaws is the first Star Wars game that will be open-world and will take place between the period of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Not much has been known about the game’s setting, but it is speculated that it will be set in a new location called Toshara and follow a new character called Kay Vess. The main story will see Vess trying to survive in the criminal underworld when the Empire takes on the Rebel Alliance. Judging from the trailer, the gameplay of the game will focus on stealth, open, and vehicle combat.
The game will also have a wanted and reputation system like GTA and Red Dead Redemption. Player’s decisions will impact how they get and lose wanted tags. 4. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind popular Arkham Batman games which are arguably the best superhero games ever released is returning after a hiatus of nearly 8 years with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game will be launching on January 30, 2024, and is set in the same world as the Arkham Batman games and will pit the Suicide Squad against Justice League.
The story of the game takes place in Metropolis as the city is being attacked by aliens and Brainiac has corrupted the minds of superheroes of the Justice League including Batman, Superman, The Flash, and Green Lantern, and the Suicide Squad is called to save the city from their wrath and chaos. Task Force X consists of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark as they take on Justice League in an original story written by Rocksteady.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a multiplayer title with four-player co-op and each character will have unique combat and traversal mechanics that make the game a high-octane action title worth playing. Players will also be able to play the game solo as any character they like and the other three characters will be controlled by AI and players can switch characters at any time.
3. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Yakuza series is one of the most popular franchises out there and has always delivered great story and gameplay in its titles. Yakuza: Like a Dragon introduced Ichiban Kasuga as a new protagonist and pivoted from live-action combat that was seen in previous titles to turn-based combat mechanics. The upcoming title in the series, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is all set to release on January 26, 2024, and will feature turn-based combat as well as dual protagonists.
Players will be playing as Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu who is a returning character and it seems like the franchise will bid him farewell for the last time. The story of the game follows Ichiban Kasuga as he goes to Honolulu, Hawaii to look for his mother and meets with Kazuma Kiryu who reveals that he is suffering from cancer.
The game is a single-player title and is going to the United States for the first time. Infinite Wealth will feature several attractive locations for players to explore, multiple mini-games to enjoy, and an improved combat system. Additionally, with voice actors like Daniel Dae Kim and Danny Trejo joining the voice cast, it is surely one of the most exciting upcoming games next year.
2. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the sequel to the Final Fantasy VII Remake and is the second installment in the remake trilogy of the original Final Fantasy VII games. Rebirth will be released for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024, and is one of the highly-anticipated titles that players are looking forward to playing.
