John Cena loves doing comedy movies

Back in 2017, John Cena was just starting out in the acting industry and had only portrayed small roles in comedy movies like Trainwreck and Sisters. Although he was not big in the acting industry back then, Cena was still a household name in the wrestling world. The actor once revealed in an interview with CBS News that he does not see himself as an intimidating guy and that is part of the reason why he likes doing comedy movies. He said,

“I think a lot of the reason that stuff has made people laugh is because I’m OK not taking myself too seriously. A lot of physically big dudes who are intimidating, imposing figures don’t want to lose that intimidating edge. I’m just not an intimidating guy by nature, so a bigger guy doing stuff that’s opposed to type is kind of funny.”

A lot of big names have been a part of the series over the years including Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot. According to sources, Cena allegedly made $1 million for his role in the movie. That is a lot considering that Michelle Rodriguez who plays the role of Letty in the series only earned $2 million even though she has been a part of the franchise since the very first movie. John Cena returned to the franchise to reprise his role in the Fast X movie and allegedly got almost $2 million for the same. This means the actor almost doubled his salary in just a span of 2 years.

To put things more into context, John Cena allegedly got paid more money than Tyrese Gibson who plays the role of Roman Pearce in the series.
