John Cena on making his silver screen debut with The Marine

John Cena entered the acting world almost two decades ago. He got his first acting break with the film The Marine. It was part one of The Marine series, which had five direct-to-video sequels.

Talking about the reason for taking up the film in her early career, Cena shared,

“Those were projects I was kind of told to do and begrudgingly did them. I don’t have any regrets about them, but I just learned a lot about what I don’t want to be involved with and getting involved with something you’re passionate about, and that’s been the key to sustainability to me.”

It was released in 2005 and grossed $22 million worldwide.

About John Cena’s The Marine

The Marine was a thrilling action film directed by John Bonito. It is taken from the screenplay by Alan B. McElroy and Michelle Gallagher. Professional wrestler John Cena made his acting debut with the film. It follows the story of a recently discharged U.S. Marine, who is on a quest to nab the diamond thieves, who had kidnapped his wife.

The film was executive produced by Vince McMahon, through the film production division of WWE, called WWE Studios. It was released in 2006. After the first one, 5 sequels of the film were rolled out, featuring The Miz as a lead. He is also a professional wrestler, actor, and television personality. He has appeared in several reality projects like Miz and Mrs, Fear Factor, The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars, and Battle of the Network Reality Stars, among others.

John Cena made a small appearance in Margot Robbie’s upcoming film, Barbie. The actor plays the role of a mustached merman. Talking about his experience with The Post, Cena said,

He was also seen playing the lead in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) television series Peacemaker. It is a spin-off from the 2021 film The Suicide Squad. The show is in progress for the second season of the superhero project. The superhero television series is created by James Gunn and based on the DC Comics character Peacemaker.
