Dwayne Johnson has a whopping net worth of $800 million. From being a formidable WWE champion to the king of the box office, his is a career that one can only dream of. He has come a long way from his first screen appearance and now has given several blockbuster hits after hits.
However, lately, his career seems to be dwindling since his movies seem to be underperforming and his ventures outside of the film industry seem to be suffering major losses. Even now as he is gearing up for major releases, nearly all of his movies are sequels or remakes that potentially would help him stay afloat.

Dwayne Johnson’s Career Is Relying Upon The Sucess Of Sequels
Dwayne Johnson‘s career seems to have taken a sudden hit. From being a major box office star, his magnificent career is almost hanging by a thread, at a stage where one hit or flop would impact his career significantly. After his exit from DCEU and the cancellation of Young Rock, he would be starring in multiple projects in the upcoming years, but almost all his movies are sequels.
The soon-to-be-released Christmas movie Red One would pair the actor with some of his fellow actors from Marvel and DC movies. Red One along with The King (TBA), based on King Kamehameha would be the only original ones in his long list of upcoming movies.
The rest would be Fast X: Part 2 (April 4, 2025), a live-action remake of Moana (June 27, 2025), Red Notice Part 2 (TBA), Jungle Cruise Part 2 (TBA), Jumanji Part 3 (TBA), San Andreas Part 2 (TBA), and the remake of Big Trouble in Little China.
Since the majority of his upcoming projects would be sequels and remakes except two, seems like Johnson’s career is heavily relying on the popularity of his past movies.
Trouble In Dwayne Johnson’s Impeccable Box Office Career
Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s career inside and outside of the film industry has been one of the most successful ones. However, his box office charting career is now facing loads of troubles. Even though he has seen his fair share of failures, it is a fact that for the longest time, he was one of the most bankable stars in the world.
After his appearance in Black Adam which was a disappointing flop and a very public departure from the Fast & Furious franchise, his career has suffered major setbacks lately. Audience fatigue, one-dimensional acting, and lack of interesting storylines seem to be the major cause.
While it is normal for actors to slowly fade away as time passes by, Dwayne Johnson is trying pretty hard to maintain his throne. Whether he loses it or keeps it is a feat that only time will tell.
