In the list, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Joker, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League were the bottom 3 on the list. While they were surpassed by Deadpool ranked 7th, Avengers: Endgame ranked 6th, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse ranked 5th.

The 2022 reboot of Gotham’s Guardian, The Batman, ranked at #4, which had more than 47.63 times the average demand. The film portrayed Bruce Wayne differently than the other DC films, as an isolated and depressed man who can not trust others. The film still feels fresh, despite being released almost a year ago.

The Batman is still one of the best DC movies in recent times, and a sequel of the film is confirmed by James Gunn and Peter Safran in their DCU, as part of Elseworlds stories. However, Robert Pattinson’s performance was not good enough to make it the most popular superhero movie in the list as Marvel captures the podium with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 3rd, Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2nd, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever being the most popular superhero film of 2023.

Robert Pattinson’s Portrayal of Batman Stands Out Among Other Portrayals

Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of the character stands out the most compared to the portrayals of the characters done by actors such as Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Micheal Keaton, and others. Batman is one of the most popular characters of DC, who has been present on the big screens since the 1940s, and each generation has added something new to the iconic character.

While the audience enjoyed both, the good and bad performances, Pattinson’s approach to the character was loved by the audience as he decided to take a different approach to the character, since Matt Reeves’ film had a noir look to it, and focused on Batman’s detective skills which often goes unnoticed.

A still from The Batman

The Twilight actor took the ’emo’ approach as stated by some fans on the internet, and the film takes place two years after Bruce Wayne becomes the vigilante of Gotham, which makes him younger than the other portrayals. However, what made Robert Pattinson’s Batman even more iconic and memorable was that the actor wore dark, smudged eyeliner while writing in a journal, showing a more darker, raw, unhinged, and gothic version of the character.

Moreover, Robert Pattinson added vulnerability to Batman, adding sensitivity to the role, constantly showing sadness and how his emotions got the better of him, showcasing deep-rooted rage, and need for revenge. Hence, his iconic quote, “I am vengeance” goes perfectly with the character.
