And one such incident occurred during the production of Terminator Salvation, which imagined Christian Bale in the shoes of a hardened John Conner. And during the filming process, one inconvenience led Bale to lose his coolness and went on to lecture the cinematographer of the movie, Shane Hurlbut.

Christian Bale lost his coolness after Shane Hurlbut disrupted his focus

While shooting a scene for the movie, Christian Bale went on to verbally decapitate Shane Hurlbut, after the cinematographer accidentally crossed Bale’s eye-line, which led the actor to lose his focus during the take. Bale didn’t respond lightly to Hurlbut’s blunder and had a meltdown while ranting over the cinematographer’s unprofessionalism. He said,

“Am I going to walk around and rip your f*king lights down, in the middle of a scene? Then why the f*k are you walking right through? ah-da-da-dah, like this, in the background? What the f*k is it with you? What don’t you f*king understand? F*k’s sake man, you’re amateur. McG, you got f*king something to say to this pr*k?”

But the video of Bale lecturing Hulbert soon went viral and wasn’t met with much enthusiasm, with many calling out the actor for his deplorable outburst on his film crew.

Christian Bale shortly apologized after his meltdown on the sets of Terminator Salvation

Following the actor’s outburst on the sets of the movie, Christian Bale didn’t shy away from taking accountability for his mistakes after fans called out the actor for his unprofessionalism. The Dark Knight actor then apologized to fans and Shane Hurlburt and took full responsibility for his unbridled behavior on set. The actor expressed that he can get too devoted to his role sometimes and isn’t fully himself but in the shoes of his character, which can lead to unwanted situations. He said,

“I was out of order beyond belief. I make no excuses for it. There is nobody who has heard that tape who has been hit harder than me.”
