Take, for instance, the current conflict between Kevin Costner and his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner. This high-profile couple (or soon-to-be ex-couple) is the current one adding to the list of those dealing with the same relationship difficulties.
And, after reports of their alleged divorce filing, now it seems the 68-year-old actor wants to try again to repair his relationship. For the unversed, Baumgartner filed for divorce from her husband earlier in May.
As per recent reports, Costner is now reportedly hoping to rekindle his relationship with her. According to a PEOPLE report, other insiders speculated that the actor’s demanding work schedule might have contributed to his wife, 49, filing for divorce from him.
Also, take note that this estranged couple married in 2004 and later welcomed three daughters into their family. Baumgartner filed for divorce from the Hidden Figures actor in May 2023 to end their 18-year marriage.
Heartbroken Kevin Costner Wants his Estranged Wife Back
Hollywood’s world is often distinguished by its fair share of turbulent relationships and whirlwind romances. Famous actor, Kevin Costner and his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner’s divorce was one such recent story that captured the public’s interest.
In the midst of the divorce proceedings, it came to light that Costner had a strong desire to make amends to his estranged wife before things appeared to be insoluble.
According to court records, Costner’s star attorney, Laura Wasser, and Baumgartner‘s lawyer, John R. Rydell II were unable to reach an agreement. Thus, this has eventually forced the 49-year-old wife of the Yellowstone star to serve him with divorce papers.
As per reports, Baumgartner recently consented to leave the actor’s compound outside of Santa Barbara, California, in exchange for his consent to pay the yet-to-be-determined court support.
Costner reportedly wanted to pay a five-figure sum, but she demanded $248k per month in return. A hearing will be held the following month, after which a judge will rule. According to documents he filed, the Hidden Figures actor accused the mother of his three children of making high-dollar demands to support her extravagant lifestyle.
Wasser did, however, imply that The Bodyguard actor has even once desired reconciliation and a happily ever after life.
Recent Update on Their Alleged Divorce
The veteran actor, Kevin Costner’s estranged wife said she was willing to leave their opulent California marital compound. But she has one demand.
According to court documents obtained by Insider, Christine Baumgartner agreed to the Dances With Wolves actor’s demands that she would vacate the Santa Barbara home by the end of the summer. But in exchange for him agreeing to pay her $248,000 per month in child support on June 28 in their increasingly contentious divorce. To quote her:
“Kevin’s statement…that I have ‘refused’ to move out is simply not true. Since the initiation of this divorce, I have repeatedly told Kevin (both directly and through counsel) that I would move out once a child support order or agreement was in place. And I have taken steps to demonstrate my commitment to doing so by investigating available housing options.”
According to their court documents, Baumgartner even claimed she needs $248,000 per month to maintain the standard of living, despite Costner’s claim that he has offered her $30,000 per month in child support payments. The case has not yet received a ruling from a judge.
The reason Baumgartner gave for filing for divorce last month was “irreconcilable differences”. Well, let’s see how things work out between them.
