Zendaya is one of the most influential actresses in the world right now and we all know why. Having started her career as a child model and backup dancer, she rose to prominence as a Disney icon with Shake It Up series. A few years later, she was leading the entertainment industry with numerous hits including her series, Euphoria.
While she enjoys a massive fandom who are devoted to her, it still doesn’t make her immune to haters. Recently, trolls have been comparing the actress to Nordic women but it didn’t stretch for a long time as her fans came to her support.
Zendaya Fans Won’t Tolerate Racist Trolls!
Recently, online commentators have been quite active in shading MCU star, Zendaya by comparing her with Nordic women. A Twitter user shared a picture of the actress along with an unknown blonde girl captioning the thread as “Vogue model / Swedish girl at the metro.”
While many started slamming the actress for using extreme filters or makeup to enhance her look, some made apparent racist remarks. With their continuous trolling, fans couldn’t help but chime in to save their idol.

seriously? this is rascist!
just because that Swedish girl has fair skin and blonde hair, she’s beautiful?
yes she is beautiful but don’t compare her to Zendaya
Zendaya’s beautiful in her own way and that girl is beautiful in her own way— tanvi🍓 (@TanviChavan19) July 9, 2023
I guess it’s true when they said that when a woman becomes too popular and overexposed in the media, people will start to hate on them. It happened with Anne Hathaway, JLaw, and now it’s starting for Zendaya.

This feels like casual racism to me idk it’s always the black girl been compared to the blond white girl because that’s your standard of beauty

Zendaya is stunning and she’s a good actress. And comparing her with a blond girl is stupid : it says nothing about her beauty but it says everything about this guy prejudices.

I just don’t understand why they both can’t be beautiful like???
Why do ppl have to tear one down in order to acknowledge the other one as beautiful. I understand having preferences but come on! It’s 2023, pitting women up against each other is getting old— Lyricミ☆ They/Them (@LyricS1n) July 9, 2023
This is not the first time that the actress had to go through extreme racist trolls. Comparing two different women is entirely absurd since everyone holds their unique charm. While trollers would only want to seek her attention in the wrong way, fans would always have her back. In the past, she faced immense criticism when she was first associated with the Marvel film.
Zendaya Was Criticized for Playing MJ in MCU
Back in 2016, the Euphoria actor was announced to star in Spider-Man: Homecoming which didn’t fit well with many Spider-Man fans. As soon as they heard about the biracial personality starring as MJ, the love interest of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, online commentators started targeting her.
Many were in disbelief that a non-white Mary Jane without red hair was cast in the franchise however, the criticism didn’t stop her from getting the support and love she deserved for her role.
Even James Gunn gave a bitter taste to haters writing,
“For me, if a character’s primary attribute – the thing that makes them iconic – is the color of their skin, or their hair color, frankly, that character is shallow and s–ks. For me, what makes MJ MJ is her alpha female playfulness, and if the actress captures that, then she’ll work. And, for the record, I think Zendaya even matches what I think of as MJ’s primary physical characteristics – she’s a tall, thin model – much more so than actresses have in the past.”
It was more than a sharp slap on their faces to stop their nonsensical arguments. Eventually, she debuted in the franchise and we all witnessed her potential giving us another reason to love her.
