Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of 2023. Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios are the publisher and developer, respectively. Gamers all around the world were excited when Starfield was first announced in 2018 during Bethesda’s E3 presentation. Just like Bethesda’s previous productions, Starfield is also a role-playing game and is scheduled to release on the 6th of September.

With the game nearing its release date, the fans have been left with rather unpleasant news. Even though there were high hopes for the game, it has now simmered down a bit. It was announced that the mechs in the game trailer were not included as playable characters.

Is The News About The Mechs Confirmed?

Sadly, the news about the mechs being unplayable characters is confirmed. Starfield’s lead designer Emil Pagliarulo, along with lead quest designer Will Shen, hosted a Q&A on Discord by Bethesda on 16th August. It was over there that they confirmed several new features, along with the mechs in ruins not being introduced as playable characters. Even though other elements led to high hopes for the game, the news about the mechs was a bit saddening. The mechs were originally from the Colony War.

Before the news about the mechs was confirmed, many people in the Bethesda community believed that the mechs were playing. Throughout the last couple of fans, social media has been left in distress, whether it is true or not. In late July, Bethesda even released a three-episode Starfield anime. The anime showed that the mechs were usable. It gave them some hope, but it was all for naught.
