Microsoft just revealed the Xbox Digital Broadcast will be making a return at the Tokyo Game Show 2023 later this month. The big event that puts the spotlight on the Japanese and Asian markets will be held between September 21 and 24, with Xbox holding its Xbox Digital Broadcast on the first day. Taking place at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo and as a live stream online for fans to tune in globally, the American company’s showcase will air at 6 pm local time. Featuring progress updates, various games from studios across Asia, and new games coming to Xbox Game Pass, Xbox aims to excite players in the region.
Xbox Digital Broadcast to Showcase Updates and “Exciting New Games Coming to Xbox Game Pass”
Xbox will host its Xbox Digital Showcase at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. As the yearly event focuses on the local Asian markets, Xbox has announced it will show off a “diverse collection of games from creators predominantly located in Japan and across Asia.” Players can also expect to hear more about what games the Xbox and Bethesda Softworks studios are working on and the progress they’re making on previously announced games. Microsoft is also set to spruce up the Xbox Game Pass with “exciting new games,” which are set to come to the company’s subscription service.
The Xbox Digital Broadcast will be airing on September 21 at 6 pm JST / 9 am UTC / 2 am PDT. Fans from around the world can tune in online via the Tokyo Game Show’s official YouTube channel and various Xbox social channels. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be able to speak Japanese to follow along, as the show will be broadcast in English, Japanese, and various other languages to accommodate international audiences. The organizers will publish a full list of where you can watch the Xbox Digital Broadcast a week before the event kicks off in Tokyo.

Tokyo Game Show Returns to Form
The Tokyo Game Show organized by the Japanese CESA (Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association) will be returning in full form again this year, as it’s the first time the event will be as big as it was before the pandemic. This has both studios and fans thrilled and anticipating big announcements for the event. For Xbox, it’s an excellent opportunity to impress Japanese gamers, as the company has struggled to keep up with the popularity of Nintendo and PlayStation in the region. Exciting reveals and announcements involving local studios could get more local players into Microsoft’s ecosystem.
The Xbox Digital Broadcast might also be the perfect time to reveal what the Japanese studio Tango Gameworks, the creators of the hit rhythm-based action game Hi-Fi Rush, are currently working on. It has been rumored the team is working on two new projects. Could the Xbox Digital Broadcast be where we find out what they are? Sega/Atlus, Konami, Capcom, Square Enix, Level-5, Koei Tecmo, HoYoverse, 505 Games, and more are scheduled to be part of the show.
