Xbox will host its Xbox Digital Showcase at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. As the yearly event focuses on the local Asian markets, Xbox has announced it will show off a “diverse collection of games from creators predominantly located in Japan and across Asia.” Players can also expect to hear more about what games the Xbox and Bethesda Softworks studios are working on and the progress they’re making on previously announced games. Microsoft is also set to spruce up the Xbox Game Pass with “exciting new games,” which are set to come to the company’s subscription service.

The Xbox Digital Broadcast will be airing on September 21 at 6 pm JST / 9 am UTC / 2 am PDT. Fans from around the world can tune in online via the Tokyo Game Show’s official YouTube channel and various Xbox social channels. Tokyo Game Show Returns to Form

Besides the Xbox Digital Broadcast, many renowned companies have been confirmed to make an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show 2023.
Besides the Xbox Digital Broadcast, many renowned companies have been confirmed to make an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show 2023.

The Tokyo Game Show organized by the Japanese CESA (Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association) will be returning in full form again this year, as it’s the first time the event will be as big as it was before the pandemic. This has both studios and fans thrilled and anticipating big announcements for the event. For Xbox, it’s an excellent opportunity to impress Japanese gamers, as the company has struggled to keep up with the popularity of Nintendo and PlayStation in the region. Exciting reveals and announcements involving local studios could get more local players into Microsoft’s ecosystem.

The Xbox Digital Broadcast might also be the perfect time to reveal what the Japanese studio Tango Gameworks, the creators of the hit rhythm-based action game Hi-Fi Rush, are currently working on. It has been rumored the team is working on two new projects. Could the Xbox Digital Broadcast be where we find out what they are? Regarding its new Xbox Game Pass titles, it would be interesting to see if some big players from Asia, such as Capcom, Konami, or Sega, will be bringing goodies to the service.

In any case, fans are already getting their hopes up and speculating huge announcements for this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Could the Xbox Digital Broadcast potentially reveal that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will finally appear on Xbox after having been a PlayStation exclusive for years? Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long to find out.

To reveal more info about the upcoming show, its exhibitors, and official programs, the Japanese CESA will reportedly stream a “Last-minute Special Preview” on September 13 at 7 pm local time. Besides Microsoft, a bevy of other renowned companies have been confirmed to make an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show. Sega/Atlus, Konami, Capcom, Square Enix, Level-5, Koei Tecmo, HoYoverse, 505 Games, and more are scheduled to be part of the show.
