The Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has apparently left no genre untouched and proven his versatility in all. He made his debut in the mega superhero franchise, Marvel, in the 2014 film The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where he played the antagonist Electro. After appearing in the film, the actor wasn’t seen in any Marvel film for several years.

However, with the 2021 film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Foxx made a massive comeback, leaving fans in awe. During an interview, Foxx shared his experience working in the franchise. Moreover, the actor reflected on an incident that happened to be a secret of the film he was involved in.

Jamie Foxx got overwhelmed by the idea of returning to the Marvel franchise

Among the various incredible roles Jamie Foxx has performed in his career, his portrayal of the Marvel supervillain Electro is on the list of his best works as it was much appreciated by the audience. And after a seven-year wait, Foxx reprised his role, in the third installment of the Spider-Man film series and made a blast.

Previously, Marvel.com approached the actor and talked about his return to the franchise after several years. The actor shared that he got a call from the producer of the film, Amy Pascal, who asked him to reprise the role in the third Spider-Man film. The actor recalled,

“Amy Pascal, who’s been so supportive of my career, brought it up to me and I was like, ‘Man, oh yeah, I want to be in there.’”

Foxx further shared that he was excited to take up the role, as he was highly impressed by the appearance of his character. The actor described it as “slick, simplified, but cool.”

The actor went on to share he got overwhelmed by the thought of working in the film. He said, 

“When I came on, there were some tears. There comes the tears; I said, ‘Whoa, this is about to happen.’ So when you get that call, they work it out and now you’re onset with some of the most incredible actors and actresses in the world. I mean how can you not be happy about it?”

His enthusiasm for the role was indeed reflected in his performance as Foxx has excelled in the role of Electro.

Jamie Foxx revealed about keeping a secret about the Marvel film

During another interview, Jamie Foxx reflected on an incident where he became a part of a secret, without even realizing it. The news outlet, The Things mentioned Foxx’s interview in which he shared that while filming Spider-Man: No Way Home he encountered three Spider-Man’s on set but, he wasn’t allowed to share it with anyone. The actor said,

 “As soon as I got on the set and there was all three Spider-Mans, I was like this (picks up cell phone). ’Oh, we up in here, baby, ‘bout to go live…’ And somebody just dove on me like I was a fire. I was like, ‘What the hell?’ ‘Shh! No one’s supposed to know.’ ‘Okay, my bad. Okay, we ain’t supposed to know that all three of them are here!’ But I think they did a great job in doing that, bringing some mystique.”
