Ed Sheeran Spent Six Weeks at Jamie Foxx’s Couch

Just like Jamie Foxx, Ed Sheeran also had a passion for music from a very young age, and by the time he reached high school, he was exploring songwriting as well. To pursue his passion, he dropped out of school and soon moved to Los Angeles to achieve his dream.

While he continued working and moving ahead, he still had to face several struggles. He was then invited to perform at The Foxxhole, a musical night run by the Roy star. His performance at The Foxxhole resulted in an invitation to stay at the actor’s house.

The actor told him that his house had a studio and that he could stay there and also work on his music. Talking about the same Foxx shared during an interview with ET Online, “I had Ed Sheeran sleep on my couch for six weeks.”

During an interview with The Telegraph, the Grammy winner said, “It was really surreal because I was involved in all these family events, like a cowboy-themed birthday party.” Sheeran claimed that while Foxx’s house was a lot different from where he grew up, it was also kind of similar in their “family orientations” and their love for music.

Jamie Foxx Has Helped Several Aspiring Artists

During his interview with ET Online, the actor shared that he believes in lifting up the artists who have the potential to do great things. Along with the Shape of You singer, he has also helped Anthony Hamilton and Nick Cannon find a place to live

“Before he made it, he came to my crib. So did Anthony Hamilton, Nick Cannon, all these [people]. You gotta press anybody that’s got that artistic feel, that touch. You’ve got to lift them up.”

His co-star in the 2017 action thriller Baby Driver, Ansel Elgort, is also a musician and has shared that Foxx has been very supportive through everything. “It’s just awesome because it made this process so much more fun,” he shared.
