Fans of Game of Thrones, get ready for some hilarious behind-the-scenes stories. Pedro Pascal once revealed the secret talent of one of his fellow co-stars— a naturally gifted sense of humor. The controversy surrounding Game of Thrones final season has left it with a somewhat complicated legacy, but the show is still well-remembered enough to have inspired a lucrative spin-off in the form of the House of the Dragon.

However, Pascal’s experience working on the HBO fantasy drama series was not entirely depressing. The Chilean-American actor previously claimed to have enjoyed himself while mingling with the Game of Thrones cast, but there was one person in the group who had the power to make him laugh aloud.

This Pedro Pascal’s Game Of Thrones Co-Star Has A Gifted Sense Of Humor

Pedro Pascal visited the r/IAmA subreddit in 2014 to respond to questions from fans about his life, career, and his well-known role as Prince Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones. The actor, however, gave a response that may surprise series beloved fans when asked which member of the cast made him laugh the most. He recalled:

“Oh my god, so many of them are so funny. The entire cast is very, very witty and a fun cast, so this is very hard to choose, but I guess something that people might not expect is that Sophie Turner [Sansa] had me in stitches a lot of the time. I’m not sure if she was trying to be funny, but she was still making me laugh.”

Pedro Pascal’s Brutal Game Of Thrones Scene With Gregor Clegane Was Actually ‘Relaxing’

Pedro Pascal played the charming Oberyn Martell in recurring roles in the fourth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones before he was cast as the lead in The Mandalorian and Joel Miller in The Last of Us. His character was killed in Game of Thrones by Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane, played by Hafór Jlus Björnsson, in a bloody and brutal manner.

So, while Clegane was killing Oberyn, Pascal was “relaxing”. The actor, 48, acknowledged that he was “dead asleep” when Björnsson was torturing him. He told CNN:

“There were all of these fleshy bits that they were kind of placing all over my face, and pumping blood so that it would pool, you know, and spread through the amphitheater for this good wide shot of the two of us from above. And I was dead asleep.”

Pascal also acknowledged that knowing his character has met his end was consoling because filming for the HBO series was an exhausting process for the actors. In light of this, he said:

“It was so hot when we were shooting that scene. He’s over me and he puts his thumbs into my eyes and they’ve got tubing through his body into his forearms to his thumbs just pumping this cool blood. It was very cathartic, and I went into the deepest sleep I’ve been in.”

Thanks to his character’s death scene, Pascal has learned a trick for getting better sleep. The Narcos actor admitted it was difficult for him to sleep at night:

“I realize now, because I’m not a very good sleeper, I need to be laid out with pieces of flesh, gelatinous, cool-to-the-touch face meat and pooling blood, and maybe I’ll finally get a good . . . night’s sleep.”

With 73 episodes broadcast over eight seasons, Game of Thrones came to an end on May 19, 2019. A prequel series called House of the Dragon premiered in 2022 on HBO.
