Masashi Kishimoto is a legendary figure in the anime world. But few people know that he considers another legendary mangaka to be his sensei. That person is none other than Yoshihiro Togashi, creator of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter. The two came together for an interview in 2009. Over there, Masashi Kishimoto revealed that he has a weird manga fetish.

Togashi sensei was asked whether there was anything that caught his attention while reading Naruto. He mentioned the fight between Kakashi and Team 7 was spectacular. Kakashi was able to overpower them while reading his book. Kishimoto’s creative sense impressed him. The way of drawing the limbs and how the characters hold their possessions was simply marvelous.

After hearing such high praises, Masashi Kishimoto answered, “I like concentrating on a single body part. Back when I was in high school, I had a notebook filled with drawings of hands and legs under different angles, I guess you could call it my fetish.” It is awkward to think that one of the greatest mangakas ever has a fetish for drawing limbs. It is one of the weirdest fetishes that anyone has ever had.

Yoshihiro Togashi’s Reaction To The Naruto Creator

Even though people think it to be bizarre, Yoshihiro Togashi applauded Kishimoto for his weird fetish. He said that the method is beneficial for Naruto since it provides a balance between Shonen and his original contributions. Masashi Kishimoto was overjoyed with this reaction, but he added that his task has become more difficult than before. He would like to improve several areas, but he feels that restrains have also increased.

Yoshihiro Togashi’s honest reaction to this was, “As long as you do not break the rules that you consider are key to the story, the changes you bring will go with no problems, try and experiment different ways and face multiple challenges.” Masashi Kishimoto considers Togashi to be his sensei. In the past, he has taken notes from him. Togashi’s encouragement helped him in creating his manga. Later on, Naruto went on to be a blockbuster among anime. But this still does not hide the fact that the Naruto creator’s weird fetish is truly unheard of.
