Daniel Radcliffe rose to fame as a child star featuring in the fantasy adventure franchise Harry Potter. Starting at the age of 11, he has since grown to become one of the most celebrated and talented actors in Hollywood and showcased his exceptional skills in a variety of performances. However, when it comes to the role that led to the first decade of his career, the actor seems pretty content with someone else donning the title of The Boy Who Lived.
When asked about his thoughts on someone else taking over the role of Harry Potter, Radcliffe had an interesting argument as he stated that the wizarding world is destined to be like one of the most popular franchises that has featured several actors over the years.
Daniel Radcliffe on the Harry Potter Franchise’s Future
Based on J.K. Rowling’s novel series, the franchise followed the story of Harry Potter’s conflicts with the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, the series concluded with the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011 and was followed by the Fantastic Beasts film series.
Warner Bros. has recently announced that they are working on a Harry Potter reboot series with a new cast. When Radcliffe was asked about the reboot during an interview with Deadline, the actor said, “I think it’s like Harry Potter was always destined to become like Sherlock Holmes.”
Sherlock Holmes is among some of the most popular characters to ever grace the screen and was based on Arthur Conan Doyle’s creation. The character has been portrayed by several actors over the years, including Robert Downey Jr., Benedict Cumberbatch, and Henry Cavill, who are highly popular among fans as of now.
The Lost Island star stated that something similar could also be followed with the Harry Potter franchise. “The people that saw Basil Rathbone play Sherlock Holmes then [were] like, ‘No one could ever do this!'” he stated as he shared that it was passed on to someone else, and that could also be the case for Harry Potter as well.
Harry Potter Producer Shares Updates Regarding Reboot

He said, “But hopefully [it will be] something that’s very special and gives us an opportunity to see the books and to enjoy a series which explores the books more deeply.” No details regarding its release date and cast have been revealed by the studio.
