While rumors emerged back in 2019 that Tom Holland’s dad might be envious of his eldest son’s quick rise to stardom, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Dominic Holland, who is a comedian and writer with his own BBC Radio 4 series, maintains a close bond with the Marvel Star and hasn’t backed away from speaking about him in his comedy routines.
During one of his stand-up routines, which has been going viral on the internet, the Eclipsed author joked about his relationship with his four sons, implying that the 27-year-old is his favorite.
Tom Holland’s Dad Makes an Exception Following His Son’s Stardom

This has left the internet in stitches, as one user joked that “Dude just created 3 villain origin stories”, referring to Tom Holland‘s three younger siblings, Harry, Paddy, and Sam Holland. Others chimed in to express their fascination with British humor, stating “English people and their dry humor lol”. Another commented, “The crowd not passing the vibe check”, on the lack of crowd response to the jokes.
Dominic Holland Advised Tom Holland to Take Things Slow in His Career
While Tom Holland has enjoyed spontaneous growth in recent years, he revealed that his dad often advised him to take it slow, as suddenly rising to stardom might ruin his life. Following this reason, Dominic Holland advised the actor against performing Rihanna’s Umbrella for Lip Sync Battle opposite Zendaya, which did end up being pretty stressful for the MCU Star. He told GQ:
“My dad always taught me when I was younger and coming up in the business that you want to get famous as slowly as possible. You don’t want to get super famous tomorrow, because you won’t be able to handle it. It will ruin your life. I am very selective of who I talk to and what I do. I don’t ever want to overexpose myself, because my privacy is the last thing I own. I think that’s why he was so worried.”
But despite doing the show anyway, the Spider-Man: No Way Home Star has continued to follow his dad’s advice, keeping his private life away from the media spotlight.
