In an interview with Jake’s Takes, the director of the movie, Shawn Levy, revealed some insider sneak peek into how the actor reacted on being delivered the news. He stated,

“I’m so happy we were able to release that one picture before the strike paused production… I think this would have gone down this way anyway. But when we first told Kevin Feige that Hugh Jackman wanted to join the movie, my recollection is damn near the first thing he said was ‘Okay, but let’s go with the blue and yellow. Just tell me we’re going with the blue and yellow.’ And when I approached Hugh with that idea he’s like ‘F–k yeah.’”

The picture release took the world by storm, and certainly for valid reasons. Despite persistent speculation and rumors, the director of the previous Wolverine film simply stated that he couldn’t envision that version of Wolverine wearing it. While that director didn’t find it fitting, Levy certainly does, and Jackman is all in for it.

Updates on Deadpool 3

Deadpool 3 was originally set to hit the big screen on September 6, 2024. Fans were then excitedly anticipating its release on November 8, 2024, a slight delay from the initial plan. However, Disney surprised everyone soon after that, with the news that the Merc with a Mouth along with Wolverine would be gracing theaters much earlier, on May 4, 2024.

But alas, all these exciting plans are now uncertain due to the strikes led by WGA and SAG-AFTRA, as the production is currently on halt. Speaking of the situation, Shawn Levy said,

“I wish I knew. I don’t even know if we officially have [a release date]. I know we were gonna be May 3. Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk. We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.”
