Modern Warfare 3 Early Access kicked off on November 2. The state of the game so far is beyond deplorable. The game is plagued with issues, and even saying that seems like an understatement. That is because, despite having bought and installed the game, Buyers seem to be unable even to start playing it.
Many gamers digitally preordered the game due to the Modern Warfare 3 Early Access available with it. However, many users took to social media to express their grievances and frustration with the current state of the title. A user shared a video displaying that they bought the game but could not play the campaign.
Modern Warfare 3 Early Access costs 70 US dollars and is part of an AAA franchise that needs no introduction, which makes the case worse for the game. It is natural to expect the game to have bugs since gamers can access the campaign portion earlier than the release date.
But being unable to play it entirely is unacceptable, with only seven to eight days to go until the complete release of the game. The issue, if it persists, would make the entire point of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Early Access redundant. That is because if the fix takes time, gamers who preordered the game will experience it after the Early Access period.
Modern Warfare 3 Early Access: What Seems to Be the Problem With It?

A user on Twitter (now known as X) going by the handle @TheeGodric shared footage of the matter. The caption confirmed that they had already purchased the game. In the video, Godric seems to be unable to access the campaign mode from the Call of Duty HQ.
The user tries to access the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Early Access mode. They are then prompted to purchase the game. When attempting to purchase the game, a dialogue box reads that they already have access to the game.

Many other users affirmed and shared that they are facing the same problem with the game. Some users said:
Same for me but did u bought the cross gen or vault edition ??

To which Godric revealed they had purchased the Standard edition. Unfortunately, this is not the only issue that gamers are facing. Gamers also revealed that playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Early Access reset their in-game levels to 1, and collectables called souls have disappeared.
One user reported:
I bought it, BUT can’t access the campaign, my LVL rested to 1, my bundles deleted, and my souls gone

It’s clear that the game is not in the best shape right now, but it only gets worse.
Other Issues with Modern Warfare 3 Early Access

There are also other issues which are troubling gamers in Modern Warfare 3 Early Access. On the PlayStation 5, for example, the game stops in the opening cutscene. It is then followed by a dialogue box asking for a disc.
Activision has, since then, rolled out an update, which they confirmed on the Twitter Handle Call Of Duty Update(@COD Updates). They made a post which read:
🛠️ #MW3 Campaign
— Call of Duty Updates (@CODUpdates) November 2, 2023
An update has gone live to address an issue causing some Players to encounter a “disc required” error. Please restart the game for the update to take effect. https://t.co/6lFdnV8ZUH
There are also some other errors which players are experiencing. One such error sees PC gamers experiencing a sudden crash, which takes them to the desktop. This is a very common error. Activision has yet to release any information or a statement on the error.
For the PC specifically, the game is also seeing performance issues with stutters being frequent. There are also other problems, such as the PlayStation 5 version missing a Platinum Trophy. Hopefully, the game will receive updates soon, and all these issues will be fixed for good.
Apart from such errors, which are contributing to players’ frustration with Modern Warfare 3 Early Access, the game also takes up a whole lot of space. The installation for the game stands at a gigantic 200 Gigabytes on the Xbox Series X|S and PS5. Activision should resolve this issue immediately if they want to stay ahead in the FPS game.
