After an intense 114-days-long strike, SAG-AFTRA has received a “Last, Best, and Final Offer” from the major Hollywood studios. Hot on the heels of the WGA strike, the actors guild has been on strike since July, demanding better pay for its members and setting up a more structured system for residuals from streaming platforms. They have also called for stopping AI implementation in production. After a week of talks with AMPTP, the union has shared an update related to the ongoing strike.

SAG-AFTRA Reviewing The Final Offer From the AMPTP
Starting over three months ago, the SAG-AFTRA strike has become one of the biggest interruptions for Hollywood. And the major studios and streamers have recently proposed an offer in an attempt to end the actors’ strike.
The actors guild has shared the updates following the negotiations between the two groups on Twitter. They shared that they have received an offer from AMPTP, which they have characterized as the “last, best, and final offer.”
While nothing is confirmed as of yet, the statement released by the union suggests that the studios are not willing to make any further negotiations or changes. They are carefully examining the offer to determine whether it meets their needs and expectations.

“We are reviewing it and considering our response within the context of the critical issues addressed in our proposals,” they said further in the tweet. The Actors’ Guild has also urged its members to ignore rumors surrounding the same.

Studio Insider Called it a Historic Package For SAG-AFTRA
SAG-AFTRA reportedly had a meeting with the major studio heads last Saturday. Studios and streamers like Netflix, NBCUniversal, Disney, Amazon, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Paramount had an hour-long discussion with the Actors’ Guild leaders.
“We didn’t just come toward you, we came all the way to you,” the Netflix CEO reportedly told the the union leaders. Another studio executive reportedly said, “SAG-AFTRA now needs to get back to us.” While the details of the offers are not revealed yet, reports have shared the potential terms mentioned in the offer.
As per Deadline, a studio insider has said that the offer made to the actors’ guild is “full package, forward-looking and fair.” Another executive close to the negotiations also called it a “historic package,” claiming that it includes strong AI protections.
An update from Variety states that the “final offer” includes a bigger residual bonus for actors of high-performing streaming shows. It also shared that AMPTP has not set a formal deadline for the union to respond to the offer.
