Hajime Isayama Revealed the Real Inspiration Behind Titan Eren and Armored Titan
Over the years, fans have enjoyed Eren and Reiner (Armored Titan) engaging in several fights. One thing that fans have noticed throughout the anime is the use of mixed martial arts by several iconic characters.
Eren, Reiner, and Annie, in particular, displayed a wide range of MMA skills during their fights. However, it isn’t by coincidence, if anything, Hajime Isayama revealed in a 2016 interview that he based Eren’s Titan form and Armored Titan’s fighting style on Yushin Okami and Brock Lesnar, respectively.

The interview was originally in Japanese but was loosely translated to English by fuku-shuu on Tumblr. The Tumblr user couldn’t entirely translate the interview. Even seven years down the line, not many details from the Japanese interview have been correctly translated into English.
Isayama has never been shy about taking inspiration from MMA fighters. In fact, some of the best scenes in the anime feature the gigantic titans using modern-era MMA tactics.
Attack on Titan Reached Its Conclusion
Attack on Titan anime began its journey in 2013. The anime was initially adapted by Studio Wit. However, after three successful seasons, Studio MAPPA stepped up to finish adapting the remainder of the manga.
While it took three parts for the final season to be completely animated, MAPPA didn’t disappoint fans. If anything, the ending of the anime was an improved version of the manga. The slight tweaks in the anime were expected following the rushed ending of the manga.

To make things better, Hajime Isayama released an alternate ending to his brainchild. So, how did MAPPA actually improve the ending? Well, the studio simply combined the two endings with slight tweaks to dialogues and added more context for the events.
However, one thing which was uniform in both, the manga and anime’s endings was the tragic death of Eren Jaeger.
