Captain America 4 or Captain America: Brave New World is an upcoming MCU movie that will deal with the retirement of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers and how Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson will act as the new Captain America.
The upcoming movie suffered a devastating blow, however, as recent tweets alleged that the movie underwent reshoots. With people blaming Anthony Mackie’s acting skills, fans were reminded of veteran director Quentin Tarantino’s words “They [the actors] are not the movie stars”.
Captain America 4 Allegedly Undergoes Reshoot!
As per a recent tweet, the upcoming MCU movie seems to be in a bit of trouble as there are rumors and allegations that Captain America: Brave New World is currently undergoing 3 major reshoots! With the world ablaze and blaming Anthony Mackie for it, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has indeed found itself in a sticky situation.
Taking to Twitter, there are several reports that Captain America 4 is undergoing reshoots. People think that the original cut wasn’t good enough and they went back for the shoots to include Chris Evans in the movie. This seems to be very insulting for actor Anthony Mackie as the world rallies against the new Captain America while director Quentin Tarantino watches the battle unfold.

Anthony Mackie trying to carry a whole film as the lead will be the definitive end of the “actors don’t matter only IP does” argument.

And amidst all of these tweets, fans were reminded of the wise words of veteran director Quentin Tarantino who had once so elegantly stated that the Marvel-ization of Hollywood meant that movie stars do not matter, characters do.
Quentin Tarantino’s Words Were Indeed True
Back when director Martin Scorsese waged war against the MCU by not calling it “cinema”, several other directors also joined his side. One of them was veteran director Quentin Tarantino who had some wise words to say to Variety, that are quite relatable to the current scenario.
“Part of the Marvel-ization of Hollywood is…you have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters. But they’re not movie stars. Right? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star. I mean, I’m not the first person to say that. I think that’s been said a zillion times…but it’s like, you know, it’s these franchise characters that become a star.”
With the alleged reshoots going underway, fans can only hope that the Marvel Cinematic Universe figures out a way to stabilize Anthony Mackie’s Captain America: Brave New World and the Multiverse. The upcoming MCU movie is currently set for a release date of 14 February 2025 across the world.
