Jonathan Majors found his career in jeopardy when he was accused of assault and harassment by his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari. This was a result of a reported altercation that reportedly took place on March 25, 2023, between the former couple, which soon led to the Marvel star being taken into custody.
As the trial is going to begin soon with a jury, several details from his case have been catching the attention of fans, the recent of which is that Majors’ accuser was herself arrested on charges of misdemeanour assault, but was later cleared of all charges.
Jonathan Majors Accusesd His Accuser Of Attack
As reported by Today, on March 25, 2023, the NYPD responded to a 911 in Manhattan, reporting that a ‘33-year-old male was involved in a dispute with a 30-year-old female‘, leading to MCU star Jonathan Majors being taken into custody in what was regarded as a ‘domestic dispute’.
He was later reportedly charged on misdemeanour accounts including assault and harassment. However, he was later released and the complaint was received with the trial set to begin soon. After a series of delays, the trial would start on Monday, December 4th. (via Deadline). However, it was recently brought to the attention of the public, that Majors back in June had made a cross-complaint against his accuser and former girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
In April, a letter to the New York Count Criminal Court by Major’s attorney was said to have stated that the actor was innocent and Jabbari had been the one ‘hitting, scratching, and attacking‘, with the actor later running away from her. The letter also mentions her allegedly going to a nightclub after allegedly assaulting Jonathan Majors.
Jonathan Majors’ Accuser Was Later Arrested And Released
Back in June, Jonathan Majors’s attorney had revealed to CBS News as to have provided compelling evidence to the DA, that allegedly indicated Grace Jabbari had been the perpetrator of the alleged violence and not the Marvel star.
Following these allegations and a cross-complaint, the accuser, Jabbari was later arrested at the end of October and was said to have been charged with misdemeanor as well as criminal mischief. However, she was released just after a day from a New York City police station, with the prosecution ruling lack of substantial evidence. As per NBC New York, a press secretary from the Prosecutor’s office stated,
“The Manhattan District Attorneys Office has officially declined to prosecute the case against Grace Jabbari because it lacks prosecutorial merit. The matter is now closed and sealed.”
Meanwhile, the trial against Majors’ is said to last for two weeks with the opening statements to be delivered on December 4. With things already appearing puzzling, it would be interesting to see what decision the jury reaches after the two-week trial.
