Lily Gladstone Followed the Same Diet as Matthew McConaughey
Lily Gladstone takes on the role of Mollie Burkhart in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, where her character’s life takes a dark turn after marrying Ernest Burkhart. As the narrative unfolds, Mollie witnesses mysterious deaths in her family and soon she herself becomes a target.

The film depicts her gradual poisoning through insulin shots, mirroring the real-life events reported by journalist David Grann in the book that inspired the movie. Gladstone has shared that she lost nearly 30 pounds to accurately depict Mollie’s wasting illness.
And the actress has revealed that she had the same nutritionist Matthew McConaughey had for Dallas Buyer Club, who helped her lose 16 pounds in two weeks. “I lost 16 pounds by doing McConaughey’s exact diet actually,” the Certain Women actress shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

McConaughey has shared that among other things, his diet for the 2013 movie included drinking as much wine as he wanted. She further shared that her diet included “just two cups of vegetables a day for two straight weeks.” And Gladstone shared that following it for two weeks turned out to be really good and left her feeling fantastic.

Matthew McConaughey Lost Nearly 50 Pounds For Dallas Buyers Club
Dallas Buyers Club features Matthew McConaughey as Ron Woodroof, a cowboy grappling with a stage 4 HIV/AIDS diagnosis in the 1980s. He has shared that the motivation behind his transformation was to authentically portray the harsh reality of living with advanced stages of HIV.

Despite the intense physical transformation, McConaughey emphasized that he did not subject himself to torture. “I was militant. The hardest part was making the damn choice,” he said on The Joe Rogan Experience. His diet during this period included fish, egg whites, tapioca pudding, and the notable inclusion of “as much wine as [he] wanted to drink.”
This dietary regimen contributed to a weight loss of “2.5 pounds a week” for the actor. By incorporating lean protein from fish and nutrient-rich vegetables while minimizing exercise, he successfully shed around 50 pounds for his Oscar-winning performance in the movie.
