Ace was killed by Akainu when he was almost freed by Luffy and Whitebeard pirates. This angered Monkey D. Garp, the grandfather of Luffy and Ace, and he was about to kill Akainu but was stopped by Sengoku. This not only reflected Garp’s love for his grandchildren, but it also showed how strong Garp is.

However, what if Sengoku didn’t stop Garp from going on to fight Akainu? Almost every One Piece fan has asked this question, and no one knows the right answer. However, one Youtuber has created the fight scene between Garp and Akainu, and it perfectly answers the question about what Garp would have done if he wasn’t stopped by Akainu.

What if Sengoku Didn’t Stop Garp?

During the Marineford Arc, when Ace is freed by Luffy and is about to leave the battlefield, Akainu, an Admiral at that time, instigated Ace by badmouthing Whitebeard in front of Ace which results in Ace fighting Akainu.

However, Ace was unable to harm Akainu despite his Logia intangibility, so Ace’s attack backfired because Akainu’s magma was his natural enemy and could smother Ace’s fire. Following that, Ace threw himself in the way of Akainu’s attack on Luffy. Ace was mortally wounded when Akainu’s devastating attack went through his torso, thus killing him.

This angered Garp to the point where he decided to kill Akainu but was stopped by Sengoku. However, if Sengoku hadn’t stopped Garp, fans would have gotten to see Garp’s strength and one of the biggest battles in One Piece history where Garp would have annihilated Akainu and eventually killed him.
