If you have been wondering why Dwayne Johnson and Logan Paul have not been working together on any new content lately, this story might surprise you. Of course, there is a reason, though, why they have not been spotted together in public or on camera. And Paul recently admitted that he is solely responsible for this while coloring his version of the story.
All of this occurred in a recent Impaulsive podcast episode in which John Cena was the featured guest. The latter questioned him about the falling out he had with The Rock, which at the time was likely news to many. And the social media influencer & professional wrestler bared his soul, discussing his shattered relationship with Johnson.
But what happened between Johnson and Paul? For a quick recap, in Japan, back in 2017, the YouTuber, 28, recorded and uploaded a video featuring a suicide victim in Aokigahara, also known as the ‘Suicide Forest’. Subsequently, public opinion strongly turned against him, and celebrities he had previously collaborated with, including The Rock, requested that their joint work be taken down from the internet to avoid being linked to Paul.

Logan Paul Gets Emotional Discussing His Fallout With ‘Idol’ Dwayne Johnson
Logan Paul nearly burst into tears as he talked to John Cena about his tense relationship with Dwayne Johnson. As previously stated, The Rock severed his relationship with the YouTuber after the latter faced intense criticism for his choice to record a s**cide victim in the Aokigahara forest of Japan in 2017.
Now, more than five years after the incident, the 28-year-old YouTuber, who has also made a name for himself in the wrestling business, discussed his tense relationship with his “idol” in the latest episode of the Impaulsive podcast.

He began by opening up to Cena, saying:
“You and Dwayne are two people I definitely looked up to, a lot, when I was trying to figure out the blueprint for my career that didn’t exist. Dwayne, especially. My idol. My hero. He’s doing it, to the highest degree. I wanted to be like Dwayne.”
Paul’s YouTube video about the Aokigahara forest received a lot of negative feedback. He carried on his conversation about the forest incident.
“In that process, I did a lot of damage. It wasn’t something that was on the forefront of my mind, and I’ve had to do a tremendous amount of therapy and figure out what in my life happened or didn’t happen to where I did that.”

Their friendship was once the pinnacle of wrestling camaraderie, thanks to their grueling workouts and laughter-filled, inspirational team-ups. But like any human connection, their connection eventually began to show cracks that actually shook the wrestling world.

It is ‘Hard’ for Logan Paul to Forgive Dwayne Johnson?
Logan Paul subsequently clarified that when Dwayne Johnson asked him to remove all of the content they had created together, the latter “basically kicked me to the curb”. He added (via the Impaulsive podcast):
“I remember it being such a low moment because I knew I let myself down, my fans down, my family down, but my idol too. It just sucked so bad. It wasn’t like I got the call from him.. I think my ego told myself that ‘I’m going to remember that and if I ever become great one day, I’m going to remember this and remember the way I was discarded,’ and again, rightfully so..”

John Cena listened to Paul’s heartfelt words before offering the following advice:
“I’m not right or wrong, it’s just my two cents. Take it or throw it back. I think it starts with your ability to forgive him. If you can get yourself to a place where you can honestly say, ‘I forgive,’ then I think you can begin the foundation to move forward. I’m not saying forget.”
Paul acknowledged the advice and said:
“I think I have an ego problem. It’s kind of hard. I can’t do it without having a conversation with him. I think that’s part of this puzzle, and I don’t know if I’m ready for that.”
Well, he has acknowledged in numerous YouTube videos and interviews that he regrets what he did in the S**cide Forest, while also saying that the experience taught him a lot and helped him become a better person. There is a chance that Johnson and Paul may not reconcile. However, there is no doubt that their bond reached a turning point after the S**cide Forest incident.
