FromSoftware announced the new DLC for Elden Ring back in 2023. Shadow of the Erdtree is one of the most anticipated content fans are eager to see. No more details were given about this expansion, and up until this year, Bandai Namco has not announced or released new trailers or even dates about the Shadow of the Erdtree release. So players have to discover what this DLC will be about.

This Rot drives anyone who has it mad; some infected characters, like Millicent, have nightmares due to this affliction.
Various characters were even born with this disease, like Melania. This infection leaves her without limbs. The reach of the Scarlet Rot is so great that some worship this disease. Sage Gowry tried to take care of the Order of the Rot. This key element in the game that affects everything it touches could trigger the new story in Shadow of the Erdtree. No details have been given about this DLC, but this could not be further from what you might see in the expansion.
According to some leaks, this DLC in particular will be very big for Elden Ring.
Malenia and Her Infection
Numerous rumors that the community is speculating about put Melania in the center of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. This character and the Scarlet Rot have a lot of background together. Thanks to one of her battles and her infection, the first flower of Aeonia was blooming. This resulted in a new species of infection and created a swamp of Scarlet Rot.
This disease causes deformities in its victims, so this could be a key point for the DLC because of its resemblance to a shadow and the fact that it covers all.
