The upcoming Elden Ring DLC has taken the gaming community by storm. The title has been appreciated by fans of the Soulsborne series ever since it came out in 2022, and despite having come out almost two years ago, the title remains relevant. The much-awaited expansion for Shadow of the Erdtree recently got a gameplay reveal trailer.
Before the trailer came out, it was all that was talked about by the game’s community on its subreddits and other social media platforms as well. But now that there is a definite release date for the expansion, the community doesn’t seem content, and a horde of new requests regarding additional content for the title are coming in.
Elden Ring DLC coming out in June is fine, but fans want more
A Redditor on the game’s subreddit posted a hilarious meme about the much-awaited expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree‘s release date confirmation and trailer reveal. The meme saw a lot of traction on the subreddit, with over six thousand upvotes.
This was the meme shared by a Tarnished on the r/Eldenring subreddit:
As seen in the meme above, the user indicated that the upcoming DLC for the title is appreciated, and if anything, the reveal is a sight for sore eyes. However, they aren’t feeling fulfilled after its reveal, and given the response to the meme, it would be wise to extrapolate that all of the Tarnished want more of Miyazaki-san’s latest.
One member of the game’s subreddit left this hilarious comment that stated everything they want to see added to the game:
“You just got DLC.” “But what about second DLC? And post-game? And arcade mode?”
While the community undoubtedly appreciates the DLC, and many are boarding the hype train for it, as visible from the reaction on various social media platforms, nothing is known about the studio’s plans after the DLC’s release.
What will come after the Elden Ring DLC?
As stated earlier, there is no surety regarding the studio’s next step and in what direction it will be after the DLC for the title is finally released in June 2024. There was speculation about the possibility of a sequel that began from the game’s director and FromSoftware’s President, Miyazaki-san’s exclusive interview published in a game guide.
But right around the time the reveal for the DLC went live, Miyazaki-san gave another interview in which he asserted that there are no plans for future DLC or a sequel. However, the game’s Director also stated that these plans can always change.
