Fast X Actor Tyrese Gibson is Open to Return for Morbius 2
Jared Leto’s tenure as Dr. Michael Morbius was set to explore more of the Spider-Man Universe in detail but Morbius didn’t turn out to be a promising project. Although the movie was unable to captivate audiences or critics’ interest, the movie’s post-credit scenes hinted at an installment.

Tyrese Gibson who played the role of Simon Stroud opposite Al Madrigal’s Agent Rodriguez loved his role and is willing to return once again.
Talking to CBR to promote his Bloodline Killer project, he reflected that he was grateful for the experience as he commented on reprising the role.
“I don’t know, man, I’m waiting on the call. I would be honored to dance with Daniel Espinosa and the crew again, [and] Jared Leto, yeah, I would love it. I would love if that opportunity presented itself, yeah.”
While the actor is excited to be a part of a possible Morbius 2, fans think otherwise. They took to social media, particularly X to express their opinions on his recent statement.

Just wait for Marvel to be able to use Morbius in like a Midnight Sons team up film or series and let him come back as Simon for that, that would be the best possibility

While the actor is excited to be a part of a possible Morbius 2, fans think otherwise. They took to social media to express their opinions on his recent statement. As excited as he sounds about reprising his role, there are no official announcements of the same, which would dash any hopes for Morbheads. He also reflected on how much of his scenes were chopped during the post-production phase.

In the same interview, he reflected on his experience working in the 2022 movie, sharing his disappointment when his fighting scenes were chopped off from the movie. He had filmed sequences with Jared Leto and Matt Smith, respectively but they were nowhere to be seen in the project.
Avid fans must have watched the trailer which featured him with a metal arm, which was itself a hefty task to put on, with clips not used in the final cut.
He shared,
“I definitely did a lot of scenes that was chopped out of the movie. I had a full-on fight, and brawl, with the villain, Matt Smith. I had a full-on fight scene with Matt Smith in London, where we filmed at a park, and it was crazy.”
He continued,
“And my arm was all over that scene, and they chopped that out of the movie, because I guess the presence of my arm, you wouldn’t have been able to edit around that.”
He also revealed that the cut-off happened during the post-production phase, as he recounted the possibilities that could have contributed to omitting his work.
“I definitely asked some questions. It wasn’t chopped because of the running time…But, yeah, I was very disappointed that they chopped that scene, but, you know, look.”
Morbius follows Michael Morbius who tries an experimental cure for a rare blood disease and transforms him into a vampire alongside his surrogate brother Milo (Matt Smith). While the project grossed over $162 million via the Numbers, which became a laughing stock among fans, it resurged its popularity when the movie was released on Netflix.
