People were not impressed with the questionable/cringe premise, as seen in the trailer, which may have led them to stay away from watching it. And those did watch it were left disappointed.

Jenna Ortega is reuniting with Tim Burton yet again for the sequel to 1988’s Beetlejuice titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. As seen from the trailer, the vibe and gothic atmosphere of the original is recreated for the sequel, and Burton seems to have ensured that the sequel retains the essence of the original. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ortega detailed how everything has been shot practically.

The actress stated that the film is visually exciting and not a lot of CGI was used, unlike many big-budget studio films nowadays. This made the shooting days really gratifying for her, and she can’t wait for people to see the work the actors have put on for the film. Ortega said,

“Everything is practical, I think we’re not using much CGI or anything like that at all. So it was satisfying shooting on set because you got instant gratification. It looks cool. Everyone did an incredible job. I cannot wait for people to see that one.”

The film will see the return of Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara, with new cast members like Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe joining the franchise. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will hit theatres on September 6, 2024.
