And lead actress Jenna Ortega became synonymous with the character of Wednesday because of her picture-perfect portrayal.
The black comedy infused with elements of mystery and the supernatural ran for eight episodes in 2022. And since then, fans have been waiting for season 2 of the show, which was announced pretty quickly, in January of 2023. While most of the cast members are set to return for the upcoming season, it was recently announced that one actor in particular has been dropped from the cast list.
Percy Hynes White Will Not Be Returning For Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Season 2
Percy Hynes White has been acting since he was the age of 7, given that both his parents are part of the industry. He played a psychic named Xavier Thorpe, who has the ability to make his art come to life in the Netflix show. But after his performance in season 1 of Wednesday, Hynes White became embroiled in some really problematic situations.
This brings us to now, as it has been revealed that the 22 year-old actor has been dropped from the cast list of Wednesday season 2. Hynes White, in a series of tweets by a user, was accused of alleged s*xual activities under the possible influence of drugs and alcohol, with minors involved in the situation.
The tweets were deleted soon after, but it led to fan campaigns, asking for his removal from the show. While the actor has denied all allegations against him, rumors of his character being written out of the show have been making rounds since last year. And now, it has been confirmed that he will not be returning for season 2.
Fans React to The Removal of Percy Hynes White From Wednesday Season 2
Since January 2023, when the accusations against Percy Hynes White were made public, many fans of the show asked for his removal from the show. The actor has denied these allegations, saying it was a “campaign of misinformation” (via Independent) by someone he had never met before, and none of the claims were ever proven. Still, it looks like Netflix is not ready to take the chance by retaining him in the cast list.
And seems like that was the right thing to do, as Wednesday and Jenna Ortega fans clamored to social media after the announcement of his removal was made official.

As of now, not a lot about Wednesday season 2 has been made public, but season 2 is now officially in production. And fans are eager to know when their beloved characters will come back to Nevermore, with some more magic and madness. Wednesday is available for streaming on Netflix.
