With the show all wrapped up after an emotional finale, Parsons was asked if he had any advice for the young actor, to which he gave an interesting reply.
Jim Parsons Believes Iain Armitage “Doesn’t Need Any Advice” For His Career
Fans of The Big Bang Theory were ecstatic as they witnessed how Jim Parsons will be returning to portray his iconic role of Sheldon Cooper in Young Sheldon for one last time, and he felt honored to reprise the role one last time, which has given him immense fame and fan following from all over the world.
While speaking with PEOPLE, The Hidden Figures actor recalled how reprising his role alongside Mayim Bialik, his co-star from The Big Bang Theory was “really special, actually.” Parsons was the executive producer and the narrator of the prequel show. During the interview, he was asked if he had any advice for Iain Armitage, who has been portraying the role since he was 9 years old.
The Spoiler Alert actor was out of words because both of them had different experiences playing the role, but he believes that Armitage does not need any advice because “he’s so smart“ and he will be doing absolutely fine without his guidance.
He said,
Oh God, no. It’s such a different experience for him, and he’s so smart. He doesn’t need any. He’s got good guidance. He and his mother, they’re just fantastic. So, he’ll be fine. God knows what he’ll do. He could do anything.
Nevertheless, Jim Parsons has high hopes for the young and talented Armitage, who has made every viewer of the show an ardent fan of him as he wraps up his story with the 2017 show.
Young Sheldon’s Finale Convinced Jim Parsons To Revisit His Old Character
In the same interview, Parsons opened up about how he felt hesitant to reprise the role of Sheldon Cooper and he felt at peace with his off-screen role in the show. However, he was convinced at once, when he read the script for the finale of the series, making him feel like it was a “gift.”
He said,
I felt a slight hesitancy when they first asked, just as I thought, I don’t really want to go revisit the character. But the way that they wrote it in was I thought so beautiful that it ended up being like this little extra coda or whatever to my experience with the character. It was this gift of a second layer of losing it out in a way that I had never seen coming, and it was a real treat.
Nevertheless, the story finally came to an end that left its viewers in tears and George Cooper Sr.’s demise just made the season finale all the more emotional and tear-jerking.
