According to the mangaka, he already planned and visualized the final of the series, which helped him finish the storyboard quickly, giving him a lot of time to draw the chapters. Haruichi Furudate Pictured a Big Moment After Finishing the Last Two Haikyuu Chapters

While talking about the conclusion of Haikyuu, Haruichi Furudate explained that he had a big party planned after completing the final two chapters. However, the chapters had a lot more pages than usual, and some of them were even color pages, which were even more difficult to draw, and it took the fun away from the glorious moment.

Furudate stated:

The last two chapters, there were a lot more pages, and there were colour pages too… (lol) You know, I was actually picturing the moment I finished drawing the last chapter. Opening up some nice alcohol, saying thank you to my staff… But finishing the drawings went until 4am. We were all at our limits so I just let everyone go home *laughs*
