Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit the theaters in about a month, and one Marvel scoop about Hugh Jackman’s yellow suit in the film would make any fan sad. Jackman played Wolverine for the first time in X-Men in 2000, and he never wore the yellow & navy blue suit in his entire run with the 20th Century Fox movies. When photos of the Australian actor on the Deadpool 3 set in his suit were released, fans were celebrating the comic-accurate depiction of the character.

Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Logan/Wolverine after seven years in the upcoming MCU film, Deadpool & Wolverine. Jackman’s character is in his most unhinged version in the film, as all the teasers and trailers suggest. However, one stark difference between his Fox movies and his Marvel appearance will be the yellow and navy blue suit.
Marvel scooper, @MyTimeToShineH, has speculated a reason for Wolverine wearing the comic-accurate suit. The scooper revealed in an exclusive scoop to their subscribers that Logan wears the suit in remembrance of his lost fellow X-Men. Fans have little idea about who the Wolverine in the Deadpool universe is, but several rumors suggest that he lost his world to some tragic event.
This version of Wolverine could be the last one remaining among the X-Men and join Deadpool in the adventure to seek some kind of retribution. According to the scooper, Cyclops and other X-Men in his universe reportedly asked him to wear the suit always, which he refused. Now that he has lost all of them, he feels it is his responsibility to wear the suit.
Cyclops and the X-Men reportedly always begged this Logan to wear the yellow suit to fit in the group, but he never did.
After he failed them and they all died, now he feels it's his responsibility to wear it in 'DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE'.

If the rumors are true, fans will get to see a tragic backstory about this Logan’s universe. Fans expect old X-Men cast members to appear in the film as this universe’s X-Men. Earlier, Cyclops actor James Marsden refused to give a definitive answer when asked about his Deadpool 3 appearance.
He revealed that he was filming for Sonic 3 near the Deadpool 3 stages in Pinewood. He remarked that the whole situation was “a little bit of a Pandora’s box.”
James Marsden and Hugh Jackman’s Characters Joked About Yellow Suit in X-Men

Bryan Singer’s 2000 movie not only refused to adopt the comic-accurate yellow suit for Wolverine but also made fun of it. Fans dug up this old joke when Hugh Jackman’s character finally got to wear the yellow suit in the upcoming film. In a scene in the film, Jackman’s Wolverine questions all the costumes that the X-Men are wearing. He asks, “You actually go outside in these things?”
James Marsden‘s Cyclops has a cheeky answer for Wolverine’s remarks, as he replies, “What would you prefer, yellow spandex?”. Fans recalled how they were disappointed with Singer’s take on the comic-accurate suit. Many fans reacted to how Marvel was righting a wrong by bringing the yellow suit into the films.
I keep thinking about how comic book movies used to distance themselves from source material, like when Cyclops mocked yellow spandex.

In 1999, Kevin Feige risked his early career by defying X-men director Bryan Singer while sneaking cast members X-men comics and even campaigning to keep Wolverines iconic hair.

Imagine they do this moment again where Logan meets a new Scott in the classic costume and says "Never thought I'd see you in yellow spandex" and Scott says "What did you expect? Black leather?" https://t.co/2XttNpbLTf

in the year 2000, wolverine was like "you guys go out in these outfits?" referring to the bryan singer black suits, and cyclops replied "what would you prefer, yellow spandex?" and i distinctly recall yelling at the screen "YES"

Besides the sad scoop, if Marsden and other X-Men actors return to the movie alongside Ryan Reynolds, there would be plenty of humor and action to watch out for. Interestingly, Marvel is also developing a new live-action X-Men feature.
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to release on 26 July 2024. Meanwhile, other X-Men and Deadpool films are available for streaming on Disney+.
