Cyclops’ return to the big screen has become a hot topic among Marvel fans. Cyclops is a founding member of the X-Men. Also known as Scott Summers, the loyal superhero blasts optic beams from his eyes, which he controls with a special visor.
Even recent comments by James Marsden have only fanned the flames. The actor, who portrayed the iconic leader of the X-Men in the original franchise, has sparked guesses with his intriguing response about being near the set of Deadpool & Wolverine.
Is Cyclops Eyeing a Return in Upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine?
Speaking to The Playlist Podcast, James Marsden talked about the possibility of reprising his role as Cyclops in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor went on to say:
“I keep hearing about that. I can’t walk down the street without someone asking me so evidently there’s a lot of chatter about that.”
While he didn’t give a definitive answer, his comments certainly left room for interpretation. The actor went on to say:
“We just wrapped [Sonic 3] actually. We were near the Deadpool stages up there in Pinewood actually. Yeah, this is a little bit of a Pandora’s box.”
The “Pandora’s box” remark is quite intriguing. In mythology, Pandora’s box held all the world’s evils but also hope. So, could this hint at a possible return while acknowledging the secrecy surrounding the film?
The last time Marsden played Cyclops was in X-Men: Days of Future Past, where Wolverine reset the timeline and brought him back to life.
After that, Fox focused on a younger X-Men team, with Tye Sheridan taking over the role. While Fox’s recent X-Men storyline hinted that Marsden’s Cyclops is out of the picture, the franchise, including Deadpool, who often joked about the tangled timelines, never shied away from alternate possibilities. So, his return might still be on the table!

I think he will he was right there it wouldn't be to hard that maybe a day or 2 he wasn't filming for Sonic 3 he went over and filmed something for Deadpool 3 it isn't to far a stretch seeing as there are big parts of Sonic 2 he wasn't in so I bet he had enough time to do it

Marvel Studios has remained tight-lipped about the exact plot of Deadpool & Wolverine and any potential cameos. Cyclops is a big deal in X-Men history.
If he makes a comeback, especially alongside Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool, it promises plenty of humor and action. Deadpool 3 hits screens this year, so we won’t have to wait too long to see if the X-Men leader really makes a comeback.
