The Boys has been a show with some shocking deaths, but unlike Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, the majority of the main cast have been safe from gruesome deaths, even if they have come close. However, Season 4 has the makings of one of the most shocking deaths in the series, and it won’t be a first either.
A-Train has had a lot of screentime in Season 4, with him actually turning to the good side, and even reconciling with Hughie. A-Train even went into Homelander’s lair to steal for Hughie, just so he is off the hook for killing his girlfriend. This has caused a few genre-savvy fans to come to the conclusion that A-Train might be running towards his own death, and for good this time.
A-Train’s death might be satisfying if it’s in defiance against Homelander
A-Train has been turning over a new leaf in Season 4. The character, who had arguably started the main conflict of the series, put his matters with Hughie to rest, at great personal risk. While the character has technically died before, the show might be setting him up to die for good to raise the stakes as it heads to its final season.
Given that A-Train is now tilting towards the good guys, and characters have died in pretty horrible ways, A-Train could die standing up to Homelander, and could actually put up a great fight, potentially weakening the character for The Boys to deliver the final blow during Season 5.
A-Train could meet a fate worse than death in The Boys Season 4
Given how diabolical Homelander is in The Boys, there is a big possibility that A-Train could lose his legs inside of dying, or be otherwise wheelchair-bund for whatever reason. However, Homelander could simply kill the character, as he has gotten more no-nonsense, meaning he could actually strive to kill the character altogether.
A-Train definitely seems to be on the chopping block, but it is possible that the show has intentionally put this in place to detract from a death that could come later.
For example, the Deep is being set up as being a completely antagonist force, what with being egged on by Sister Sage and other Vought representatives, but the character is also ripe for a for a redemption story at this point in his narrative, which could also end with him dying. It is safe to say that newcomers like Firecracker, Sister Sage, and Black Noir are safe, for the time being.
